Kilauea Point Light House......

We were heading back to our condo from ziplining and saw a sign on the road leading us to this area.

Both of my girls LOVE lighthouses so we decided to stop by to check it out.

There is something magical about light houses.
They stand as a beacon of light for those who are in rough waters. They safely guide them to safety. The theme for my daughters in institute (years ago) was all about light houses. They related them to how the Lord is there to guide you in your life. When times get rough and rocky you can follow HIS light back to happiness and security. Ashlee has a picture of a lighthouse with a storm raging all around and you can see the Saviors loving arms outstretched, inviting us in for shelter from the storm. I love it!

I love the way it is just perched out on the edge of the cliff.

I think it looks so cool!

We decided NOT to pay to go inside the gated area. We had a pretty good view from here and just decided to snap some pictures and be on our way.

Hey Howie....Get that tongue in your mouth.

I am surprised that Howie was NOT asking me to scale down the side of this mountain to get a better look (Like he wanted to do at the waterfall)

April and Ash took a lot of amazing pictures of this area.

Beautiful birds up in the trees and breath-taking scenery.

This is the breath-taking scenery I was talking about. He really does "TAKE MY BREATH AWAY!"

Here is a picture of another COOOOOL TREE!

The ride back from the light house was cloudy and grey but we saw some cool landscaping along the way.

These pine trees were so cool!

Everything is so green. The mountains are so magestic looking!

There is one thing about Kauai which I think is unique. There is only one road around the island... You can't get lost. I know I would fit right in if I lived in Kauai because I love their "MODE OF TRANSPORTATION".....Hitch hiking! I have done MY SHARE OF HITCH HIKING IN MY LIFE! Great way to travel :) Nice and Cheap!!!! While we were driving back to the condo we picked up some hitch-hikers. Two young BEACH BUM boys. They were on their way to go surfing. I think they were actually sluffing school. Imagine that! I would NEVER do anything like that!!! Skip school for a little fun? NEVER!

It was fun to travel for about 30 minutes with these kids and get to know a little about them. Oh....to be young again! They were a crack up. Very cute kids! They gave us a tour as we drove along with them. They explained different things on the island. We fed them candy and then sent them on their way.....

They were bragging a bit as we drove about how great they were at surfing. We decided to stay a while and watch them show off.

This kid I swear is probably 9 or 10 years old.
He was pretty good!
He rode the wave in all the way to the shoreline

The older kid was good as well but I think I enjoyed watching the younger one more.

Well it is time to leave this beach area and go enjoy ourselves at our own "private beach"

I'm glad we made those two stops after zip lining! More memories are always a good thing!
