Fishin' at Strawberry.....

April, Shawn and the girls slept over on July 2nd so that we could go fishing early in the morning. The girls were not too happy about being woken up in the wee hours of the day.

Lyssi especially had a hard time. She was just screamin' !
She just wanted to go back to bed!!!

Nothing seemed to calm this girl.....
EXCEPT.......

The touch of her mother's hand.....

She would just cry over and over,
"I need to hold mommy's hand!"

She soon cuddled with "Bear"
and her mommy's hand helped comfort her.

She was still not too happy but at least she wasn't wailing!
This girl can really SCREAM!

This couldn't be very comfortable for April reaching around from the front seat to quiet her child, but whatever it takes to make her kids happy....April does!

Before long Lyssi was fast asleep. YEAH!
It cracks me up how these kids sleep while traveling in the car. Their necks look as if they are about to break. Doesn't look too comfortable to me!

Karah had the right idea....
Use the seat belt as a head rest to help support her flopping head.

Good thinking "Boo"!

We arrived before the sun had even risen and boy was it ever COLD!

The girls were all bundled up and still not quite awake yet

We rented a pontoon boat which made it really nice with the little ones. It is also nice to be able to buzz over to the fishing spots quickly. Shawn was our captain for the day :)

Before long all of the poles were assembled and ready to go....

And so were the kids....
It seemed like as soon as the sun came out so did their smiles!

Karah telling me her fishing secrets.....

Mommy and Lyss all bundled and ready to go....
Howie was our Anchor Man for the day.....
It was a beautiful, beautiful morning......
This picture of Karah didn't turn out to well but she was all grins as she got her pole out and began to fish. She loves to go fishing.

Once everyone had their poles in the water the contest began....

When we go fishing as a family we have a contest to see who catches the first fish, the biggest fish, and the most fish.

Only about a minute after April put her pole in the water....

She had a FISH!

It was a great day for fishing and the fish were all really good sized

April was our "Net Lady" for the day.

Whenever someone (Besides herself) caught a fish she was standing nearby with her trusty pole to bring the fish in safely to the boat.

I think she got more exercise than anyone else because we were ALL consistantly catching fish. What a SUPER DAY of fishing!

I love to watch Howie fish.
He is so excited each time he gets a bite.

Beautiful fish Howie!

He was grinning from ear to ear all day long!
The girls loved fishing. I thought they would both get bored after an hour or so but not them. They were content and having a good time the entire day. I can't remember them complaining or whining the entire time. I think most kids would!

Here is Alyssa trying out Boo's pole.

"Here fishy fishy"...... Time for lunch!

Papa Howie helping Lyss catch a big one....

Lyss just kicking back and relaxing in the arms of her Papa.

Lyss and Papa take the prize for the longest fish :)

She was so excited to pull this big lunker in!

Fishing is not truly fishing unless you bring lots of goodies to munch on. I thought I should bring some strawberries to eat since we were fishing at STRAWBERRY Reservoir.

YUMMY!

My strawberry stained little faces....

Our Anchor Man had some help throughout the day.

The girls wanted to be involved in everything.

Our Anchor Man is a HUNK! I love him!

I loved to see how the girls followed Howie around and stood right beside him the majority of the day. They have quite the bond with him. I love it!

The girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves .

When I asked Karah if she was having fun this was her response.
A BIG THUMBS UP!

A picture to show off my SEXY new look. DIG THOSE SOCKS! Iwas FREEZING and so April offered me her long socks. I had only worn flip flops that day so this look was a little funky but it sure helped my freezing tootsies!

What a relaxing day.

April found a comfy spot to rest while she fishes.

Yeah it is finally warming up a bit.

Shawn decided to let the girls drive the boat to our next spot.

April put down the camera and hold on tight.

Your little ones are about to take us for a spin!

They really enjoyed it......

With Lyssi at the throttle and Boo at the wheel we were ready for a fun ride around the lake.

Here is a short video clip of the girls driving.

I love to hear their giggles of excitement.

April took her turn at the wheel. It was a much smoother ride.

Lyssi enjoying a boat ride....

Strawberry Reservoir is such a huge lake that there weren't many boat around us. It always feels as though you are the only people out on this massive lake. I have always LOVED fishing here and have a lot of fun memories. It was nice to form some more with April and her family.

I have the best "CATCH" of all!

Thanks for the fun days guys. We enjoyed ourselves a ton!

Hey.... "GET A ROOM!" (as Karah would tell us)
