Hawaii....

May 19, 2011
Well, we are off to Hawaii again.  We had purchased a room at a discounted price a year prior and it was about to expire.  They wanted us to come check out their time share of the Marriott Resort in Kauai.
Acting silly on the plane....
We need to photoshop the picture of Howie here and the picture of me in the above picture and we would have a pretty decent picture of the two of us.  We are off......
We had a layover in Seattle and were able to hook up with Heather.  It was so nice to see her and spend some time, even though it was only a short visit.  We went to a nearby park and had a little snack with her.  It was FREEZING cold but well worth it.  Wish so bad that she lived closer so that we could spend more time with her.  She is a sweetheart!
Too bad that her bags were not packed.  I would have kidnapped her and taken her with us.  That would have been fun!
It always feels great to finally arrive in Hawaii.  There is just something about that place.  I guess that is why it is known as Paradise.  Apparently, my camera was NOT ready for the humidity!  This picture is a bit foggy but the man in the picture is HOT!
Ready for a relaxing vacation.....
When we arrived at the hotel we were unable to get into a room.  We spent some time out on the hammocks and soaking up the sun.
I was WAY too hot to sit there in the sweltering heat.  Go for it Howie....I am tucked over in the cool shade.  If shade can really be cool with all of the humidity!  I could not wait to get down to the pool to cool off.
Beautiful Blue Hawaiian Skies....
It was funny watching Howie try to get out of the hammock!  OOOOPS.....
The resort is absolutely beautiful.  We have been there three times and I never get tired of the beauty.
We decided to take this vacation and just chill by the pool for the majority of the trip.  We rented one of these canopy beds and just laid around soaking up the sun.
Howie had a chance to do his favorite thing.....READ!  He read, and read, and read, and read.  He was definitely loving this trip.
We had a great laugh as he posed as my BALD LOVER in these pictures.  I couldn't believe how BALD he looks with his hair pulled back.  SO FUNNY!
My baldy.....
I think it would be so fun to BIC his head!
Trying to act sexy!!!!
More pretty pictures of our pool area....
This was the patio for our room.....
The cats there got more use of our patio than we did!  We would wake up in the morning to cats meowing at the door.
Steve was loving it....
He doesn't get to be around cats very often because I am so allergic.  He loves them so much.

Tubing.....
We had planned only one activity for this trip.  We generally are on the go the entire visit and this time we really wanted to just slow down!  We decided to go on a tubing trip here on the island.
It was a unique activity where we floated through the ditches, tunnels, and flumes of the sugar plantation. They were  hand-dug by Chinese laborers to deliver water from the rainforest to thirsty sugar cane fields near Lihue.
Our guides....

They gave us helmets with lights on them so we could see during the trip. There was a time when everyone turned them off and I could not believe how dark it was.  Just like being in a dark cave!  It was pretty cool
Bad picture quality but the only one we have of the two of us.
It was about three hours long.  Quite relaxing and pretty interesting as we learned about the history of the sugar plantations.
We generally do "high adventure" activities whenever we come to Hawaii.  Well this was NOT that thrilling but I would recommend it to anyone.  Very relaxing and enjoyable.
More of the beauty of Kauai....

Our Resort.....
Relaxing in our hammock....
I love you Howie....
I love the trees in Hawaii.  They are so pretty
Waiting for our shuttle....

Beautiful Beach......
We deciced to go visit our favorite beach to watch the sunset.  This beach is pretty remote.  In order to get to the beach you need to  drive for over 45 minutes on  a very bumpy dirt road.

Miles and miles and miles of beach
My beach boy.....
Or should I say OLD MAN!
(he made me say that)
Our little crab friend....
Message to my lover boy....
The most beautiful sunsets on the island
This trip was a LOT different than the other visits to Hawaii but I can't complain! It was relaxing and beautiful as always and it always is sad to leave this beautiful island and go back to the working world.

Goodbye Paradise!
