Early Morning Surprise....
The girls decided to bring the kids up to Montana for a visit. They did not tell the kids where they were going until long into the trip. They were all so excited to SURPRISE Papa Howie and Grandma T!!! They left after school and traveled all through the night.
It was almost 2:00 am when the kids arrived at our place after their LONG treck to Montana. Howie had given up on waiting and fell fast to sleep. That did NOT last long. He was awaken by giggly, goofy grandkids climbing all over him.
Oh boy....this is gonna be a LONG, LONG night. The kids were WIDE awake and ready for some FUN!
Pillow fights....Yes Howie is getting ATTACKED!
I love the look on Lyssi's face! She is ready to CLOBBER Howie and he doesn't even know it is coming! So glad they wrestle around with him instead of me. It was way too late (or early) for this kind of play.
Here are some short little video clips of their late night fun...
It started out quiet and mellow as they woke up and realized that they had finally arrived.
Tyson telling us about the trip and how Brayden used Baby Nate as a pillow pet. We did not turn on the light at first because we figured that we would just quietly visit for a while and then they would be back to sleep. NO WAY.....I could tell by their giggles that the night had JUST BEGUN! The craziness was about to begin!!! Look out Howie -there will be NO rest for you tonight :)
You can see Howie in the background half asleep. With all of their energy, he is about to be attacked!
Here are some short little video clips of their late night fun...
Brayden wanted to share with me a song he had learned in school. I love how sweet his little voice is. He is a doll!
Howie and the kids joining in on the song....
I honestly can't remember how we finally settled them down for bed but I believe it was about 3 or 4 in the morning before we all finally crashed. It was so wonderful to see them again and have them all there at our home.
Playing with cousins.....
The kids were up bright and early playing outside in the back. I thought they would be sleeping in because of their LONG drive to Montana but NOOOOO.....Not these kids
They were very resourceful with the junk in the backyard and made themselves a nice little teeter-totter.
These kids play so well together!
Aunt April helped her buddy Luke get a sliver out of his hand. That darn wood hurt my little guy!
We decided to take a nice walk to the nearby Wal-mart to see the Easter Bunny and enjoy the activities that they had planned there at the store.
If you notice in these pictures, Jack is carrying a little bunny bag that he made in school right before he came to Montana. It is kinda funny that he toted that thing around from the moment he woke up that morning till he went to sleep.
He really wanted us to HURRY up so that we wouldn't miss the Easter Bunny. He was walking so fast he left everyone else in the dust!
On the way to the store we spotted some little bunnies that were hopping around the yards.
The kids loved watching them hop around and play together
I got a kick out of how QUIET the kids were as they watched the bunnies in the neighborhood. They are NEVER that quiet and I CAUGHT IT ON TAPE! Imagine that :)
A cool tree with a face on it....
Notice the bunny bag on Jack's arm... lol
Rolling down the hill....
The kids had a great time playing on the big hill behind the store
Once we arrived at Walmart we loaded up the cart and started our FUN! I loved the look on the faces of the shoppers as they watched Papa Howie lug the kids around on the cart.
Fun Pictures....
Luke was a little leary about sitting next to the bunny. Jack just simply REFUSED!
Lyssi does not seem too thrilled either. I think these kids are a wee bit SHY!
Wal-mart gave out gifts to all of the kids.
Planting Seeds....
They also had a section where the kids got to plant their own seeds and take it home to let them grow.
Lyss is carefully planting her bean seed...
They all took turns.....
Scavenger Hunt.....
Wal-mart had a scavenger hunt around the store. They had balloons hidden around the different areas of the store and when you located them you got some candy to fill your basket up with.
Luke has a dejected look on his face because he was soooo excited that he had found a group of balloons but when he ran up to it, he realized that the basket of candy was EMPTY! He was NOT happy. He kept saying "That's not FAIR"
Heading Home....
Loaded up with Easter goodies and prizes and ready to go back home.
Grandma T and her KIDDOS!
Notice everyone had a new Easter bucket EXCEPT Brayden. He said "Why do I need one of those when I have this NIFTY Bunny Basket"
Picnic Time....
It was a beautiful spring day so we decided to pull out a blanket and enjoy the warm sunshine. Besides...our duplex is so small that everyone would have a hard time fitting in there to eat together. lol
April hiding from the camera...
A shot of our home from the park area.....
My goofy granddaughters....
It is funny how these girls can find FUN with the most simple things....Making goofy mustaches with pine needles. I loved listening to them laugh and giggle. They thought it was so funny :)
The kids love that we have a huge park attached to your property. Karah said..."you have the biggest yard in the WHOLE world!" I think she believes this is ALL OURS!
Certainly glad that is is NOT ours. Could you imagine mowing all of this?
The kids were in HEAVEN when they discovered this HUGE hill of DIRT! They played king of the mountain and loved it!
They kept saying "We're on TOP of the world!"
There are some definite advantages to living right next to a park. The kids had a wonderful time playing there. What a fun filled day for these grandkids of ours. I am so happy that they were able to come visit.
Notice what is STILL on his arm?
So dang funny!!!
The bunny bag is STILL there :)
Cute cousins playing together....
I taught Lyss how to pump on the swing. She was adorable!
Well the kids were certainly enjoying themselves but they had NO IDEA what was REALLY planned for them. They did not have a clue that their parents were about to leave to go back to Utah and they were letting the kids stay with us. What a fun time it was watching the surprised looks on their faces as they were told that they got to stay in Montana with Papa Howie and Grandma T for a WEEK!!!! I think I was the most excited of all. Time spent with my cute grandkids! Doesn't get better than that!!!
