Pool Time Fun....

August 5, 2011
There is nothing like coming home and spending time with our grandkids.  It is so nice to have that time with them.  We really enjoy just hanging out in the backyard together, swimming, swinging, and visiting together.
Alyssa is not that impressed with the pool.  In fact she rarely comes in for a swim with us.  She usually will get in her suit and then just hang out on the swings or in the playhouse.  I often find her swinging away and singing songs to herself.  She is such a little sweetheart.
As I approached her, before I took this video she said to me, "I love you Grandma T.  You are the best Grandma EVER!"  Talk about melting my heart!  Then she sang me one of her favorite songs.  It is a Christmas song in August :)
Luke is another one that is not a fan of swimming but he has just recently taken some swim lessons so he is getting a little more brave.  He can even jump in....as long as someone is nearby to catch him so that his head does NOT go under!!!
The kids are much more daring this year.  They were so darn excited when they went into the pool and found out that they could actually touch the bottom.  They get to go without a life jacket if an adult is with them.
It makes it much easier to do tricks.  I can't believe that a month ago these kiddos would NOT even put their faces in the water.  WOW!!!  Things have certainly changed!
Help from mom....
Jack is getting more brave in the water....
Trying the Superman Swim....
Ashlee showing off her handstand.  She could have gone much longer but she lost here glasses.  Good job Dawnie!
Luke enjoying the swings...
Back to Lyss to hear some fairy stories that she created just for her Grandma T.  It was impossible to try talking her into coming swimming with me.  She was TOTALLY content on her swing telling stories and singing.  I  love this girl!  She makes me smile.
And talk about SMILES!!!  This picture sums up our fun family times in the pool.  The kids all enjoy themselves so much!  Grandma T and Papa Howie are in HEAVEN.  Nothing better in this world than the laughter of your sweet grandkids.
Must be time to get out and eat.  Nate is about to eat this cup.  He is such a delight!  So darn happy!

 Our happy Nate...
He loved watching the kids play on the slide....We thought it would be a great idea to take him on a ride down!
NOPE!  Not a good idea...He was terrified!
Big Brother Luke giving hugs to make him happy again.
Nothing better in the summer than yummy watermelon.
The kids had fun showing me their watermelon smiles....

 YUMMY!
This watermelon tastes much better than that plastic cup I was gnawing on earlier!
DELICIOUS!!!
