Goin' Home.....

Friday, April 22, 2011
The snow had slowed down quite a bit so we finally felt it was safe to head home.  We gave the kids pads of paper to make a picture journal of their experiences in Montana.  It was so fun to hear them read and tell about their favorite memories.
They were so goofy and loved acting silly for the camera.  Brayden would say, "Grandma T....Take a picture of me!"  Then he's make some silly pose.  He is a goofball

When they were in the Bozeman office they had free access to all of the art supplies.  They decided that they needed "crowns" to wear for their play that they presented to us.  Well, they wore those crowns the entire next day. They were pretty darn proud of them.  Even when we stopped in the stores or gas stations along the way....THEY WORE THEM PROUDLY....just as you would expect "ROYALTY"to do!
As always the scenery was absolutely gorgeous....
We saw these rams along side the road and stopped for a quick picture.  We also saw deer and buffalo along the way.
Not only did we see beautiful wildlife, we also saw this huge pile of trees on fire.
When we passed this fire, it "ignited" the kids.....Oh why did I NOT bring earplugs on this trip?  What was I thinking?  They kept saying that we needed to call Uncle Ty to come put the fire out.
These goofy kids gave me a HEADACHE!

Break time....
When we got to West Yellowstone we decided it was time for a break.  We took them into the general store to buy some goodies and of course....a cowboy hat.  We couldn't imagine sending them back from Montana with out a nifty hat as a gift.  Everyone except Luke wanted their own new cowboy hat.  They also bought small  Easter gifts as well.

Brayden showing off his new toy.
Jack did NOT want to get in our group picture so THE PICTURE WENT TO HIM :)
My COWBOY KIDS!
Brayden Jack's best cowboy face!
Boo's attempt at a cowgirl face....
Alyssa was hilarious.  Everytime I asked her what a cowgirl looks like, she would make THIS face.  She crinkled up her nose and squinted her eyes like this.  SO CUTE!

Luke with his new hat.  He did NOT want to get one of the "weird cow hats"  as he called them.
Cowboy Jack....

Rest Stop Surprise!
We decided to stop at a gas station in Idaho and when I went in the store to buy some drinks and goodies, I found the store had a sections where they were selling bunnies and baby chicks.  I got the kids out of the car to show them the surprise.

They had a great time petting the bunnies.....

Luke especially loved the baby chicks.....

I think Lukie could have watched them all day long.

Our New Bunny.....
Well the kids started begging for us to buy a bunny for them.  I thought NO WAY!  Especially since we still had about 4 hours of driving left. I told them that we couldn't keep one in Montana and that their moms would not want them to have one.  Karah convinced me to call April and ask.  I was SO convinced that April would say NO that I told the kids, "If she says it is okay then we can buy the bunny"  WHAT WAS I THINKING?  I had NO idea Ape would actually say YES!!!!  I had the phone on speaker mode so when the kids heard April say "YES" they were jumping up and down for joy.  Excited was an UNDERSTATEMENT!
We bought a little cage for her and wondered how it would ever fit in the car with us.  We were loaded to the top with absolutely no extra space

The kids told us that they wanted the bunny  so bad that they would just take turns holding it on their laps.  Well that did NOT last long.  In fact.....they could barely move.  This was going to be a LONG Squishy trip back to Utah.

I decided to bring the bunny up to the front seat with me so the kids could breathe!  They all talked about what to name her and came up with the name Lolly or Lolly-Pop!  (we later found out that the name "POP" was more appropriate)  Lolly had a funny ear that would bend over to the opposite side of her head.  I was growing attached to this little fluff ball!

The kids took turns holding and petting Lolly.  They each sang songs to her as well....

I loved watching how gentle they were with her.

She fit perfectly in Boo's hat....
Brayden singing part of the new song they learned..."You've Gotta Have Skin"
 We are finally in UTAH....
OH MY EARS!
After they each had a chance to hold and pet Lolly and they got all of their singing and screaming out of their system, they all fell fast to sleep.  I had told them that Lolly needed a nap because she was still a baby.  Before we knew it....we looked back and all four of the kiddos were fast asleep!
Awwww finally!  PEACE AND QUIET!
This last picture sure sums up the past week.  It was exhausting but so well worth it.  They got along so well.  In fact I really don't remember a single fight.  I love the way they play and interact together as cousins and best friends.  It is such a blessing to have them as our grandkids and we enjoyed EVERY minute spent with them this week.  WHAT A JOY they are in our lives.
