Shoshone Falls.....

Steve has been working three days a week up in Idaho Falls. Once in a while I go up with him to keep him company.
A few weeks ago we decided to go travel around and check out the area. I saw some sign that said SHOSHONE FALLS so we decided to check it out. It was hard for me to believe that there were actually FALLS in this area because everything looks relatively FLAT!!! Just farmland with a few little hills here and there!
When we arrived we took a walk down to the lake area first, but I didn't take any pictures. Bummer because I think it was nicer than the actual falls that we went to see. It was really pretty and peaceful there. They have a pathway that leads around the lake. Steve wants to use that path to run on sometime when he is up there at work. It is quiet and beautiful. Nice little fishing lake as well, with a large grass area for kids to play on. PERFECT place for a picnic. I was impressed!
The falls were actually very cool. There is something so POWERFUL and MAJESTIC about waterfalls. I love to just stand and watch the water rushing off the rocks and listen to the roar of the falls.
The view from the outlook point was quite dry and dead looking. Still waking up from the winter months I guess. I do like the "VIEW" of my hubby though! I could look at him all day!!!
But the surrounding area was gorgeous.
Some man that was also visiting the Falls area told us that this is the spot that Evil Caneval (not sure how to spell) tried to jump over, on his motorcycle, years ago. CRAZY MAN! What was he thinking???

The man we spoke to that day also told us about a trail that leads up to the ridge of the mountain there. He said it was a beautiful trail to go on and it has a gorgeous view of the area. Steve and I plan to go one day and check it out.

Nice visit to Shoshone Falls. We'll be back!
