The first part of May I received a call from Ashlee frantically asking me to come over to the nearby hospital to pick up Brayden. She told me that she was there to get Luke's finger checked out. Brayden had shut the door from the house to the garage AND Luke's little finger was stuck in it. She heard the "blood curdling" screams but by the time she ran around to the garage, Poor Luke's finger had been STUCK (by the hinges) for several minutes. OUCH!!!!

When I arrived at the hospital I could hear the cries from Luke when I entered the door. They finally gave him some pain medication to relax him a bit so that they could get some
xrays taken.
Brayden was very concerned!! He wanted to make sure that I realized that he DID NOT do it on purpose. I think he told me 5 or 6 times in an hour or so that it was an accident. He really wanted to GET OUTTA THERE and go home, because he told me that
every time he heard Luke crying, it made him sad that he hurt his brother. He said "It hurts my feelings to hear him cry because I hurt him!" You can even see in the picture above that he had a look of concern on his little face. It was like that ALL DAY LONG till Luke came home and Brayden found out that his little brother was going to ge okay.

Ashlee was doing a great job comforting her little guy. Once they gave him some medication and turned on the
tv to get his mind off of the pain he calmed down quite a bit.

She told me that when she finally got to the door and opened it up, Luke's finger was smashed almost FLAT! She was convinced it was broken pretty bad. By the time I arrived at the hospital it was pretty swollen and his nail was already BLUE! OUCH!!!

He has a nasty cut on the side as well. I originally thought it was stuck in the door by the side that has the weather stripping so maybe he had some sort of cushioning BUT
NOOOO! It was stuck in the backside of the door where the hinges are. The doctors said that it amazingly was NOT broken. That is a miracle!

He got a COOL splint to wear for a while till it heals. He looks MUCH, MUCH happier now that he is home! I am so glad that it turned out better than Ash had expected. He is one tough little cookie! Way to be BRAVE big guy! I love you oooodles!
Karah's Heart Holster....

I decided to put these two posts together because they happened on the same day.
Karah had been having some health problems lately and was taken to Primary Children's Hospital a few weeks back. They thought she was either having problems with her heart or a possible
seizure. Anyway... this day she had to put on her holster to monitor her heart activity over a 24 hour period. They are thinking she has some arythmia or something along that line.

She was a little concerned about wearing it to school but her mommy assured her that it would be under her shirt and no one will even know.

Taaa-Daaaa!
All hooked up and ready to go!

My two silly grandkids showing off their new accessories! I have the sweetest grandchildren and I really worry when they are sick or hurt or sad. I am so happy to say that Luke's finger has since healed up perfectly and Karah's testing went well also. The doctors are still trying to figure out what is going on with her but for now....SHE is FINE! Let's just hope it stays that way and that her little incident was just a FLUKE!

Oh my gosh, T, I read on April's page about Karah's issues, but your grandson had his finger hurt on the same day?????
Manohmighty!!! Your girls are surely being put through the wringer, not to mention how you are feeling through all this!!!!
I hope you will have a much calmer summer - I'm sure Luke will have a great scar to show off (when he's older), but I hope they can find some easier-to-deal-with hobbies *kidddddding*
