Mother's Day 2010,,,,,

This Mother's Day is probably the best year EVER! Steve and the girls spoiled me like I have NEVER been spoiled before!!! First of all on Saturday I received a beautiful Mother's Day card in the mail from Howie. Such a thoughtful and sweet surprise!

Then Sunday morning came and I woke to the most delicious smell coming from the kitchen. Howie had got up early to make homemade waffles. The girls delivered my Breakfast in Bed. Yummy yogurt, fruit, and waffles. He not only made breakfast in bed for me but for April as well. Bringing up breakfast in bed is something my granddaughters LOVE to do.

Gotta love the BED HEAD HAIRDOS!!!

After breakfast the girls LOADED the bed with gifts they had bought for me and their mom. They wrapped them all by themselves and ONLY used ONE WHOLE ROLL of tape to get the job done! :) :) :) Very impressive girls!

Jared (April's friend) had taken the girls the night before to shop for gifts for me and their mom. He is a great guy and SO THOUGHTFUL! I remember Karah telling me that Jared was SO NICE because he took her shopping. She is such a girl....She loves to shop, especially at the nearby dollar store!
Karah got me some beautiful flower seeds
Her hair cracks me up in this picture
but mine is not much better!!!

She also got me a beautiful purple butterfly wind chime!

Alyssa got me this pretty ballerina statue.

She was so dang proud of it!

She kept saying..."you like it Grandma T?"
April opening up her presents....

One of the girls gave her a puzzle....
She loves doing puzzles
Can't remember what else she got.
Hugs for a wonderful mommy!

April or Alyssa (I can't remember) got some lip gloss as a gift. Lyss REALLY wanted to share it with EVERYONE!

She was extremely careful as she SMEARED on GOBS of the gloss.
Even Papa Howie was a good sport and let her "go to town" applying it on his lips!
Pucker up Howie...Lookin good!
You are such a great sport!!!

Next the girls entertained us with some morning magic tricks. They are so tricky :)

Jared also got the girls a gift for themselves.

BUG CATCHERS!!!

We had fun that morning digging in the flower beds for bugs. Then girls found a centipede, spider, worm, snail, "rollie-pollie" (potato bug) and some ants and had them all inside this container, along with some grass of coarse! The girls were so excited to show Jared when he came to our home that evening....BUT....the bugs had ALL DIED by then!!!!

Steve also surprised April and I with a beautiful flower to wear to church. Very nice guy!
Steve cleaned up from all of the breakfast mess and then instantly began preparing the food for the dinner he had planned for later in the day. He refused to let me help him in any way. He wouldn't even tell me what he was cooking. He wanted it all to be a surprise!

Karah was Steve's BIG HELPER!

He got out the cookbook and decided to make Angel Food Cake from scratch. I had mentioned to him a few days earlier that I loved that kind of cake. Of coarse he remembered that piece of info and decided to surprise me with it for desert. It was so dang cute to peek in and watch him as he prepared for this meal. The cake was actually delicious and I ended up eating almost the whole thing throughout the following week.
Anytime Steve is in the kitchen you can find Karah right by his side. There are some benefits to helping out with the cooking,,,,,

Licking the beaters......Great payoff!

Another thing that Karah loves to help make is SALADS. Every Sunday dinner she creates a MASTERPIECE all by herself. Karah and Lyssi decorated the table with some flowers that they had made the night before at their Babysitters Club. When Steve turned around he found the table set like this. VERY FESTIVE, Boo! Looks so yummy.
Another one of my favorite foods is Chicken Parmigiana. Steve also found a recipe in the cookbook and made the MOST delicious Chicken that I have EVER tasted. He seriously worked from about 7:00 in the morning till 12:30 straight to prepare this Special Mother's Day meal. He even worked later to clean it all up after dinner.

Waffles, yogurt, fruit, chicken parmigiana, pasta, shrimp cocktail, salad, veggies, and strawberry shortcake. ALL MADE FROM SCRATCH!!!! UNBELIEVABLE. He seriously spoiled me so much. I was full for a week! LOL

I had fun celebrating with Howie and the girls and he definitely made me feel special that day. We all went to visit my mom and met Ashlee and the boys over there as well. FUN MOTHER'S DAY!
I think Howie needs to give lessons to other men out there on how to spoil their wife. He is a pro at it and he always makes me feel like a queen. Thank you once again Howie. I loved it all!!
