"A Buck Eighty-Nine.......

I love the new gas prices lately. I can actually afford to drive back and forth to work now! It is $1.38 across the street from me and I AM LOVIN' IT!!!

This picture was taken about 3 weeks ago

Here is the story of why I had to take a picture of this particular sign......

Two years ago I met Howie. He lived in Washington and was traveling down to visit me for the first time. He had planned to come down for Conference and was going to stop by to visit me (and some other chick). We ended up talking on the phone the entire duration of his trip down to Utah. We talked all through the night and into the next morning. 13 HOURS!!!! I was so excited to finally get to meet this wonderful man that I had been writing to on the internet.

When he was approaching Utah he had mentioned how expensive gas was. As we were talking about it he said he just filled up at $2.99 a gallon. Some places were even more than that.

Well...... I told him it was cheaper here in Utah. (hoping to convince him to move closer to me)
I told him I had just filled up for "A buck eighty-nine" across the street from my house.

NOW FOR THE RECORD I DID NOT LIE ON PURPOSE. I WAS SLEEP DEPRIVED FOR ONE THING AND I MEANT TO SAY $2.89. (meaning it would be a 10-15 cent per gallon savings)

It was not until later that I found out from Howie what I had ACTUALLY told him.

Well.... Howie thought it must be true so when he went to fill up the last time he decided to only put ten dollars into his tank and wait till he arrived in Salt Lake to fill it all the way up with the "Cheaper" gas. Once he arrived he drove ALL AROUND looking for the "Buck eighty nine" gas . He couldn't find it anywhere. NO KIDDING.... Cuz there was NO SUCH THING !!!! I honestly meant to say TWO- eighty-nine. I had no idea I had even made that mistake.

Well for the past 2 years Howie has been bugging me and teasing me each time we go out to fill up our tank. He says...."hey T, lets go to the station with the "Buck eighty-nine" gas. HA HA HA.

Okay..... Howie now we actually can.

I was driving on the bus going to work and looked up and saw this BEAUTIFUL SIGN. I never imagined it would go down to this price but it actually has now. I had to get a picture of it to prove to Howie that UTAH actually does have "A BUCK-EIGHTY-NINE" gas. Now he has to stop teasing me about it!!!!
He was not in town when the prices actually began to drop so we weren't able to fill up at this price. I thought it would be fun to go on a DATE to get our cars filled up together. (that way I could rub it in his face a little! he he he) :)
The prices just kept dropping so by the time he got home they were well under the great price of "a buck eighty nine" GOTTA love UTAH!!! Gotta love the new CHEAP gas prices we have now! YEAH!
