Karah's 7th Birthday....

August 6, 2011
Wow time has sure flown by!  Can't believe it is time once again to spend time with Boo for her birthday.
She is certainly growing up fast!
We love this cute birthday girl....
A few pictures with Lyss before we head out for the day...
Acting silly comes natural for this group!
Papa Howie looks like he is in some serious PAIN!!!

Getting tackled by a girl!  Don't let her take you down Papa!
Buckled up and ready to go!
We decided to take her to Park City Mountain Resort.  Karah and Brayden have an unfair advantage having their birthdays in the summertime.  There is a ton more to do for fun.  This was definitely one of my favorites.  So much fun for adults as well as the kids.
Getting all set up for the rides...
A picture with Grandma T before the fun began!
I think Karah's favorite part of our day was this trampoline.  They would put this harness on you and then you were free to jump, flip and spin to your hearts content.
Karah was a daredevil that's for sure.  She did a flip on her very first try.   I am not sure if it was intentional but it was certainly impressive!
I can't believe how high in the sky she flew!
If I wasn't so darn old I would have tried it myself!
They also had some small rides for the kids but compaired to the trampoline they just did not measure up to the fun she had on that!
Yipee....Smile Boo!
Notice how she is just gazing off in the distant...Yep I think she was thinking that this ride was pretty LAME!
She was a good sport though.  When I asked her if she wanted to go on it again her response was..."Well, do I have to?"  Guess that answered my question :)
The giant slide was a LOT more fun for her.
The trick was to get to the top of the slide.  They did NOT make it easy for the kids. They had to SQUEEEEZE through the tiny squares in the platform to reach a higher level.  It was quit a workout just manuevering up to the top!
Getting higher....
Glad I didn't go up with her like she wanted me to.  I can just see it now...."GRANDMA STUCK AND RESCUERS ON THEIR WAY!"  That would NOT be a pretty sight!  Now watching Papa Howie try to squeeze through those would have been hilarious.  Too bad we didn't think of it.  He is always up for a good laugh!
Weeeeeeee.......
The Climbing wall was next...
Getting geared up for the climb....
And she's off.....
This girl is like a little monkey.  I can't believe how quickly she scaled the side of this climbing wall.  Very impressive Karah!  Way to go!

Next we headed up the top of the mountain on the lift.  It was such a gorgeous day.
Video of our ride up the mountain...
She saw this little critter from way up on the chair lift.  "Hurry Grandma T...Get a picture of it!"

What an enjoyable ride to the top.  The ski resort sure looks different without the snow on the mountain tops...
Picture of the Alpine slide that we are about to go down.  It goes on forever!  It's gonna be a fun LONG ride back down to the bottom.
Stopping to smell the flowers...
When we finally got to the top Karah had her mind set on riding down the Dynomite Express.  For the first time down I thought it would be better to take the Silver Streak (an easier ride).  Karah was quite disappointed.  She asked me something like "Grandma T....Where is you sense of ADVENTURE".  I am a wimp and she went along with it. What a good sport she was!
Papa Howie went on the Bigger slide but I heard later that he rode the brakes the whole way down.  He was a little concerned about getting flipped off the slide entirely if he went too fast!
Karah is my little "go-getter"  -  Here she is getting the sled up and ready to go on our ride.  Who said this girl could grow up anyway?
A quick picture before we headed down the mountain
 Ready...Get Set....GOOOO!
Video of us cruisin' down the mountain. It was a LOT of fun.  Karah had a great idea...When it rains it could be a fun waterslide!  This video did not show how fast we were bookin'!  Seriously it was a riot!
They also had a small miniature golf area at the resort.
Karah was hilarious!
She could NOT get the stinkin' ball into the hole.  So funny!!!!
A little bit of cheating going on here.  I like how when she isn't trying, the ball finally goes in the stupid hole.  We had such a fun time with Karah

Waiting patiently for the coaster ride...
There was a pretty long line to go on the coaster ride.  But boy was it ever worth it!
This was the view of the resort from up by the coaster ride.  What a fun place for families to spend time together!

Passing the time with a snack...
It was finally time to go on the coaster....This time Boo got to go with Papa Howie
Just a video of our trip up to the top.  What a gorgeous day it was.
The coaster was by far Papa Howie's favorite part of the day.  It is amazing how fast you can get going!  We had so much fun we decided to go again.  This time Karah went with me.  She later told me that I was a CRAZY driver.  "You went a LOT faster than Papa Howie"  Imagine that!  Everyone that knows me knows how much I LOVE speed!  Especially when you know that there is no way of flipping off of the ride.  SOOOO MUCH FUN!!!!

Karah's favorite part of the park was the trampoline.  Each time we finished a ride she would head back over and get harnessed up for some more fun!  While we waited in lines...she played!

Back up to the top to ride the slide one more time before leaving....
What a wonderful day spent with this cutie!
She is getting much more brave now.  She just informed me that she was planning on going down the slide...ALL BY HERSELF!  Are you kidding me?
She even wanted to drag her sled by herself.
This girl had NO FEAR!
Can you see the excitement in her face?  I was TERRIFIED for her!
Papa Howie went behind her in case she had a problem...
"Eat my dust Papa Howie!  Just TRY to keep up with me!"
And off she goes!   Can't believe how fast she took off.  She passed the other person like they were standing still.  YIKES!!!!!  Hang on Boo-Bear!

She was quite disappointed when she got down to the bottom.  There was a girl going down in front of her that was going  way slow and so Boo had to SLOW down to a crawl!  She came puttering down the mountain with Howie right behind.  They were going so slow that they had to get out and walk part way down.  BUMMER!  But she had a good time anyway!  I was pretty impressed that she wanted to try it all by herself. My baby girl is growing up  :(
One more turn on the tramp before we left.
Goodbye to Park City Mountain Resort!  We had a FABULOUS time!
I love these two!
Crazy, goofy, silly....Yep that describes them :)
Karah LOVED this bus and we decided to take it for a ride around the town before leaving.  It also gave us a chance to warm up a bit.  It was FREEZING by the time the sun went down.
Heading to our hotel...
Birthday hugs....
A birthday is not complete without a few snacks...
Howie and I got some yummy carmel apples in the candy shop and Boo chose these.  Hmmm looks like she is going to get her fill of sugar for the week!
We stopped at a nearby restaurant to eat and Karah was acting so silly!  I guess that happens when you play that hard and haven't eaten a thing.
She was STARVIN-MARVIN!
Papa Howie showing us his TRAIN WRECK!  Ewwww keep that food IN your mouth!  For how hungry Karah was....she ate like a bird!  The food there was NOT good at ALL!
Karah was freaked out a bit seeing a deer plastered on the wall in the lobby of the hotel.  She grabbed my camera and snapped this picture.  She kept saying that it was going to fall off on someone's head below, and FREAK them out!  She was quite concerned!
I am not sure why I always take pictures of the grandkids opening the door to the hotel.  It is a tradition for them to be able to first find our room number, and then open it up by themselves.  They think they are so grown up!
She grabbed the key and said, "I know just how to do this!  I will open it all by myself"  The grandkids are always so darn excited once we are in the room and they have checked it all out.  The kids are all the same.  Lots of squeals as they first enter and  check out the hotel room for the night!  I love our tradition.  Most of the kids only care that we go to a hotel for the night.  Anything else we do with them is just extra fun!
Look how LONG she is!  HOLY COW!  This girl is growing up WAY too fast!
Papa Howie went to get the bags and we planned our ambush!  No hotel room stay is complete without our traditional pillow fight!
We checked in so late at night that everyone was asleep.  Usually we get a little loud and out of control but this time we had to keep it down a bit.  Nothing like a silent pillow fight!
Bedtime stories before we crashed for the night
Nothing as sweet as a child alseep!
The next morning we had a little fun with facemasks.  She was woken up to a SCARY GRANNY MONSTER!  She was quite startled until she actually woke up enough to realize it was just her Grandma T staring at her!  She said in a sleepy little voice, "whew...You freaked me out Grandma T.  I was just having a dream about ZOMBIES!"
Papa Howie was a good sport and joined in on our fun
Boo had fun smearing this goop on her Papa's face.  I think he was just too stinkin' tired to even care!
Our Zombie Photo Shoot, compliments of Karah

Yep this girl is growing up.  She was so proud that she had done her hair ALL BY HERSELF!
We played a little dot-to-dot game as we waited to get checked out of the hotel.  I cherish each of these special times together!  Such fond, fond memories!
Here she is completing her Heart Dot-to Dot that I made for her.  She does have a special place in my heart.  We thoroughly enjoyed our time together.  What a fun, fun place.  We need to bring our entire family up next time.  There is something for EVERYONE to do and it is such a beautiful place to be.

I love you Boo Bear!
Happy Birthday!
