Spa Day With Boo Bear......

One Spring day in April Karah asked me if it would be okay to have a "SPA DAY." A few months back she had visited the spa with a group of older friends for a birthday party. Since that day Boo has been asking if WE could do it at our home.

Of course I agreed! Sounds fun to me! She knew exactly how she wanted to set up our "SPA ROOM." She told me that we needed to have very soft towels, lots of flowers, and soft music. Once she decorated the room just right and we gathered up all of our supplies, we were ready to begin our day of fun and relaxation!
She informed me that she needed to have "Pickles on her eyes" to make them pretty. This cold pack was the closest I could get to "pickles" or cucumbers as I assumed she meant.

She guided me through the entire process as to what I should be doing. She told me that while she relaxed and rested her eyes, I should massage pretty smelling lotion into her legs. She was so stinkin' cute as she lay there informing me what to do. I love this girl!

I love the expression on her face. It was so funny because as I was massaging in her legs and feet she would lay back and say, "ohhhh that feels so goooood....awwww that is relaxing.'

I spoiled her quiet relaxing moment when I was massaging her feet. She said it TICKLED!!!!

The next part she wanted massaged was her hands. She ATE THAT UP! Boo said "Grandma T can you do this to me EVERY day? You are the BEST!' She later told me that I should get a job in the "Spa Store" so that I can massage EVERYONE'S hands.

Once her EYES were well rested....It was time for her to get a facial.

She kept telling me that I had soft hands.
She knows how to "butter me up" for more!

A pedicure was next on her list of things to do. She giggled as the bubbles were turned on. Karah is "such a GIRL" She loves to be pampered.

Lookin' Good!
Time for her pretty pink polish. I can't believe how long her legs looked in this picture. Also notice that Lyss is watching. WELL... she refused to follow directions so she doesn't get her "Spa Day" with us. But I let her watch. I feel like a mean grandma but we really need to TEACH her to listen and obey!
Alyssa also brought some shell necklaces to decorate our spa room. Great touch Lyssi! She was excited to contribute these to make the "room" prettier :)
It was funny that Karah insisted on using these toe thingamajigs. They didn't fit too well but she said we REALLY needed to use them on her feet so the nail polish won't smear. GOOD THINKING BOO!
Drying time. I think it is funny to see how wrinkled up her little toes are. She loved having them in the BUBBLY water. Maybe they were in just a bit TOO LONG!
MY PRINCESS CHILLIN' AT THE SPA!
Next we decided to pull out he paraffin wax to dip our hands into. It was pretty hot so I transferred some over into a bowl for her to use. She thought it was cool how they made her hands stiff!
We put on the mittens and let it go to work to soften those "ROUGH DRY HANDS" of Karah's. She was eating up all of this attention that's for sure!

Time to peel it off....
Cool stuff!!!!

Now that her hands have been massaged, and "waxed" it is now time for the pretty pink nail polish that she chose. PERFECT COLOR BOO.

All done and looking good. Dry time!
When I thought we were all done with her day at the spa she informed me that she needed to "sit back and enjoy a fancy drink with a straw." Well... this capri sun is the fanciest I have and guess what??? It has a STRAW! PERFECT!
Papa Howie wanted to join us for the paraffin wax part of our day. That is really neat stuff and it seriously makes your hands so soft and smooth and smellin' good!

Being the silly man that he is, Steve also dipped his nose into the paraffin wax. The girls LOVED IT!!! He will do ANYTHING to make the grand kids giggle. FUNNY MAN!
Then the girls thought it was fun to pick it off his nose. Now we have a new meaning to the words "picking his nose!"

Both girls enjoyed "picking their Papa's nose"

Karah did not want this fun to end and so she talked her Papa Howie into laying back while we pampered him a bit. They dressed him up and insisted that he wear the eye pads, the necklace and the BEAUTIFUL FLOWER. Looking good Howie! You are such a great sport!

I think I can blackmail Steve with some of these pictures. NO WAIT...I already posted them on my blog for the world to see. He is the BEST Papa in the world!
Not only did he allow them to dress him up that way he also let Karah paint his fingernails.
She really concentrated as she worked on his hands....
Awww...now he is pretty in PINK!
What a MAN! He made this a day the girls will always remember. Steve always knows just what to do to add that little "SPICE" into every activity that we do. He really has a talent for making the kids enjoy themselves no matter what it is. SUCH a FUN-LOVING and KIND man. I am so happy that I am able to "play grandparents" with Steve. COULDN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!!!
Well maybe it CAN get better. Our SPA day was on a Friday afternoon. WELL....Steve kept his nail polish on all day SATURDAY (even when he went into Home Depot -ha ha ha) and then gave into keeping it on for church the next day. Karah wanted to MATCH her Papa Howie when they went to church together. At first Steve was like....NO WAY!!!!!!! But after a LOT of sweet talking from me and the girls he finally gave in. I can convince him to do almost ANYTHING. (unless snow is involved! ha ha ha -Private joke)

All ready for church and looking so pretty with those NAILS Papa!

He originally wanted the polish off but the remover MYSTERIOUSLY disappeared from our home! hmmmmm NOT SURE WHERE IT WENT! He had tried picking it off with not much luck. So when Sunday came his nails were in pretty bad shape. I tried talking him into letting me touch them up a bit so he would look PRETTY but for some ODD REASON he said NO!!!
I love this picture because it will always remind me of the true LOVE Steve has for his girls. So sweet with them. Thanks Howie. You make me smile!
It was funny at church the men in the High Priest Group really didn't give him that hard of a time. I think they all could tell how much he loves his grandkids and that he would basically do anything (even if he might be humiliated) to make them happy. One of the guys stopped me in the hall after church and told me how lucky I was to have Steve as my husband. He said that he is a TOP NOTCH GUY! YEP!!!! I have to agree with him. AMAZING MAN.
Oh yeah...Another man in our ward asked if he could come to our next SPA DAY! I really think he was SERIOUS! Maybe that can be our next ward party! IT WAS SO FUN! I hope next time I can get the grandson's and Tyson to join with us! LOL
NOT GONNA HAPPEN! We'd have to do some pretty serious BRIBING to get TYSON to join us. LOL
