Clean BIll of Health......

Just a few weeks ago I made an appointment for Howie to get checked out at the doctors. When Steve was 19 years old his father had passed away from colon cancer. This illness runs in the family and Steve has never been checked out before. Howie had a few weeks off from work and so I decided it would be a perfect time. He was NOT too thrilled about this appointment AT ALL!!! We had recently read funny emails I received from my friend concerning the prep before a colonoscopy and Howie had heard my horror stories from when I had it done. I kind of exaggerated a bit just to get him all nerved up! :)

The day before his appointment he was instructed to only eat clear fluid and then after 8:00 p.m. he had to fast. No food at all until the following afternoon. Steve ran off to go home teaching after church and I decided to prepare his LAST SUPPER. I made him a candle light dinner. He was surprised when he returned to find this deeeelicious dinner waiting! YUMMMMY

It was a well rounded meal and we had almost all of the food groups covered. Chicken broth for the meat group, blueberry jello for the fruit group, Orange and green jello served on a bed of lettuce (which he couldn't eat) for the salad group, and cream soda for the "bubbly" group.

Howie.... Take your time and savor all of this delicious food. BUT remember....save room for dessert. Mouth watering popsicles are waiting in the freezer for ya! I got ya covered!

Howie being gross with his blueberry jello.....

YIKES he's going to slime me!

Once dinner was complete he had to start his GROSS drink combination.

This stuff tastes worse than Isagenix! YUCK!

No more details about his prep for surgery..... This picture describes it all. This room in our home became Howie's best friend. They spent lots and lots of time together that night! :)

The next morning we headed over to the new hospital in Murray. It is a beautiful facility. We had actually taken a tour of it, with his sister Jan, a while back before it was open to the public.

To tell the truth I was a little nervous about the results. I have been so blessed to have Steve in my life that the thought that he could possibly have anything wrong really scared me. I could not bare to lose him. I have many friends who are struggling with health problems and I don't think I could handle seeing my wonderful husband go through any of that.

When they wheeled him into the recovery room hooked up to the tubes and still sedated it freaked me out for a moment. I saw him lying there and thought of how blessed I am to have him in my life. I was so happy to hear that everything went well and that he had a clean bill of health. No problems, no worries! yeah!!!

I love this picture of Howie. Here he is laying all drugged up and he has the sweetest little smile on his face. You can tell from the picture that he is such a happy soul. He is so pleasant to be around and just wants to make others happy. He is easy going and fun loving and I am so blessed to have him in my life. I love you Howie! I am so glad you are okay!

He's all done and ready for home.....

If you zoom up on this picture you can see that the orderly and Howie are laughing quite a bit. I didn't find out till after he got in the car that the reason they were laughing was because of .......

These two ladies....

Actually they are men dressed up as ladies. They had a horrible stench about them and were in need of a good shave! (and shower for that matter) They had just walked past Howie in the lobby.

Everything worked out wonderfully today and I think I will have my hubby around for a long long long time. OH YEAH....I have him for eternity!
