Tonsil Trouble.....

This post is way late. I think this happened back in June and I know that Ashlee has already posted this event on her blog months ago BUT.... As I came across these pictures in my computer files I wanted to add them to my blog to keep as memories with our grand kids.
Brayden had been having a lot of trouble with his tonsils. In fact I believe both of Ashlee's boys did. Brayden was so bad that the doctors decided to take out his tonsils and adenoids. They thought that it may help him from getting sick all of the time. His tonsils were HUGE!!

Ashlee invited me to come with her to the surgical center that day. I am so thankful that my girls call on me to help out when needed. I truly enjoy the time spent making memories with them and my grandchildren.

We got to Saint Marks Hospital early in the morning. Brayden had no idea what was about to happen! The boys enjoyed playing in the waiting room as we got them registered. They played so nicely together.

I love when Brady lets me hold him.

He is such a cute snuggle-bug!

Brayden had a paper cut......

and was pretty excited to get a Sponge Bob bandaid

Me with my little buddy.....

He got changed in his Looney Tunes gown.....

Stories with mom to keep him busy. Notice the toy trains on his lap. He doesn't leave home without them :)

Ashlee is the BEST mom to these little guys.....

Still waiting........

Good Ole Thomas came to keep him company during his surgery

They gave him some medicine and it made him kind of LOOPY

Hey this stuff is better than laughing gas!

Hey wait..... Maybe that is what IT IS !!!!

What a goofy kid

The nurse finally came in and it was time to go

Getting set for his ride to surgery....

He was pretty groggy by now....

WOW he is traveling in style!

The nurse was really good with him. I love when hospitals cater to the needs of these small children. They make it such a pleasant experience for them.

More fun in the waiting room.....

Luke is quite the character......

Peek-a Boo Grandma "T"

This boy knows how to bring a smile to my face. He is a "Happy Go Lucky" boy. I love him tons!

We decided to go across the street to pick up some breakfast while we waited. When we returned we found out that they had finished with Brayden more quickly than we had expected. The Cranky Receptionist informed us that they had been looking ALL OVER for us! She was not at all happy with the fact that we had left! She was a real RAUNCHY lady. She needs to get a life and not get so worked up about things!!! Okay....Okay.... Back to Brayden.

First thing that Jack-Jack said when he saw us was......

"THEY HURT MY MOUTH"

"

He would just say over and over again.....

" I want to go home!"

We sat back in the recovery room for a while before they would let us go home. Just to make sure he was okay....

Finally home and snuggling on the couch. I love when he is not feeling well because he loves to be held. I can't get enough of spending this quality time with my grandson. Notice the train propped up on his chest. It cracks me up to see him hang onto that everywhere he goes. Even on his sick bed, Thomas is close by.

The doctor told Ash that the more we can get him to drink and eat the faster he will heal. They also said that if we can get him to eat salty things it would be more soothing for him. We decided to get him some Cheeto Puffs. They just dissolve when you put them in your mouth. HE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THEM! I think he ended up eating the whole bag himself in a matter of days.

He was really good at drinking liquids as well.

He insisted on having two cups. I had to laugh as I watched him take a sip from one cup and then switch to the other. FUNNY BOY!

He laid around and watched tv for hours. I think he watched every Thomas the Train video several times each.

Thanks Ashlee for letting me help out and spend time with you and your boys. I love you all so much and feel blessed to have you in my life. I absolutely LOVE being a grandma.
