Miracle-Ear.....

Thought I would post some pictures of our HOME away from HOME.  We spend countless hours here in this office in Billings Montana.  These pictures were taken last December around Christmas time.  I tried to quickly decorate the lobby a bit to make it feel more Christmassy, but it was a pretty lame attempt. It actually looked pretty nice when the lights were down and the Christmas lights were on.  I figured since we were never in our duplex, thought it would be nice to bring Christmas to the office.  Hopefully this year I will have more time to get a tree up and make it look nicer.   I will now take you on a tour of our office.......

The Lobby Area.....

These chairs are SELDOM empty.....

We ALWAYS have goodies out for our patients....
I love the little sign we have....
HEARING BETTER IS SWEET!
We have some of the BEST patients EVER!

The Front Desk Area.....
We have the best front office assistant.  This is HER home away from home.  We certainly keep that girl working.  Busy, Busy, Busy!!!!Couldn't do it without her.  Wish I had a picture of her hard at work but these pictures were taken after hours.

Down the Hallway......
We have two offices, a bathroom and a workroom down the hall.

The Testing Room.....

The front office is used as our testing room.  This is where Steve spends the majority of his day.  There are days that he barely leaves this room.  One patient after another is escorted into this office.  Poor Howie!  He is definitely overworked and underpaid!
Videodoscope.....
Look inside your ear with a camera
Sound booth.....
His desk.....

The Workroom......

I can't believe how this room has changed since we purchased it a few months ago.  When we came here for the first time there was SO MUCH JUNK everywhere.  I went on a BINGE and threw half of it away.
I just couldn't stand all of the clutter!  Well, I later found out that we NEEDED some of the supplies that I carelessly threw away!  OOOOOOPS!
But at least it looked clean and professional!  In fact, I wish it still looked this clean.  It gets CRAZY in this room when we are swamped!  We have deliveries, repairs, orders, and supplies all crammed in this tiny room.  Looking at this picture makes me want to go clear it out again!

Our Bathroom.....
This picture makes it look like the bathroom is pink!  It definitely isn't!  In fact since these pictures I have decorated it and put in rugs.  It looks much better.

The Back Office....
This is where I spend my life!
I laugh everytime I see this picture because I look at that tree and can't believe that the past owner had that pathetic looking plant in the front lobby.  I put it back here because my FOA couldn't bear the thought of getting rid of it.  I thought it would be a great tree for the BYU campus or something.  Looks like the letter Y.  Can you say UGLY????  I have since, heaved it to the curb!  Took it out to the dumpster when Beth was not looking  :)
Oh how I wish this table was cleared off right now.  We can barely see the table top now!  I have a lot of cleaning to do, that's for sure!
You can tell from the pictures that I have posted that there was no business when we first began.  I really should take some pictures now and compare the two.  Before and after shots.  It is next to IMPOSSIBLE to keep things this organized with the amount of work we are doing.  I think I need a maid!
Never ever in a million years would I have thought that we would be doing this business together.  It has been a challenge, and yet very rewarding.  It has been heart-wrenching as we have lost some of our recent patients.  It is amazing how you grow to love these people.  It is sad to see them suffer with illness or lonliness.  Breaks my heart.  Steve is an amazing man and treats them all as if they are his own grandma or grandpa.  I love to see him interact with them.  Once the door closes to his testing room....the laughs begin.  I honestly believe many of our patients have not laughed for years.  He has a special gift.  I love to see him at work and in his element.  It is definitely his calling in life....to help these people enjoy life again.

I can't tell you how many times people leave the office in tears.  Tears of joy that is.  They are so appreciative for the help that Steve offers.  They can finally hear things that they have missed out on for years.  I LOVE THIS JOB!

I know I often curse this place because at times we work ourselves to a frazzle- but I could not imagine doing anything different.  I love our patients, and I love the fact that Steve and I get to work together on a daily basis.   We have been blessed!

SERVICE CENTERS.....

We also have two service centers.  One in Miles City and one in Bozeman.  I have just two pictures of the Bozeman office taken last year when we first started.  Things have changed a lot since these pictures and I plan on posting the two sevice center picts at a later time.  Just thought I would get these two in for now.
 Our lobby area.....
This office also has a testing room, another office and a work room.  This service center had basically NO business when we took it over.  Now we average about 20-25 appointments each day that we come here.  I never wanted to "take on" the Bozeman area originally,  but I have grown to love the people here as well.  In fact, not a week goes by where one of the patients asks us to move to Bozeman so that we can be there full time. So funny!

Well I better stop for now....I have to get to bed so that I can go to work in the morning.  OH WAIT!!!! It already IS morning!    It is gonna be a LONG day.
