Our First Stop....Hilo

We spent about 10 minutes in some visitor center and we both looked at each other and said "We've seen enough...Lets get out of here"
We toured around Volcanoes National Park and some wierd steam holes that came out of the ground. I was not that impressed. Actually kind of boring if you ask me.
We also stopped by an Orchid Garden near the town of Volcano. I thought that would be so pretty but it ended up being just a little green house along this small deserted road. WOW... we spent a total of maybe 5 minutes inside and left for some real fun.
We went to a black sand beach and laid out and caught some rays.
Oh yeah... Now we're living.
Talk about relaxing. Except when this really ugly bird would come up to us to visit.
Our new friend didn't take the hint that we were honeymooners and we wanted some "alone time"
This place had a bunch of sea turtles that swam around near the shore.

To tell you the truth I was Terrified! I told Howie he had to hang tight to my hand so that I would not sink. I probably squeezed out all of the blood supply in his hand for the first half hour or so. It was quite the experience though. Very beautiful under the water. I loved it and soon lightened up on the death grip! Poor Steve.... He is so patient with me. The next day we went bike riding. Now at first I was not too excited about this activity but Howie really wanted to do it. Shannon, my cousin helped convince me that it would be a fun activity. It was to be a five hour bike ride. That did not sound fun to me. It sounded like a lot of hard work and I didn't think I was up to it in my OLD age.
They drove us to the top of this HUGE volcano. It is the highest point on the island.
When we got to the top they fed us and passed out all of our gear.
Boy it was pretty cold up there. They gave us wind suits to keep us warm. They said we would be flying down the hill at 20-25 mph. Now that sounds FUN! No need to pedal. Five hours of "thrills and spills". Hopefully no spills.
This is a picture that shows the road we traveled down but it was not taken at the very top. Still you can see in the far distance, the ocean that we are biking to.
All geared up and ready to go.
Halfway down we stopped to eat dinner at a park area. What an adventure. I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Hawaii.... Well worth the time and the money.
We ended up at this beach five hours later. I think we had to pedal a total of maybe 3 times for ten seconds tops... Sheer downhill blast of fun! I never realized how much fun it is to go cruisin' down the hill at that speed. I wanted to go faster but some people in front of me were a bit too chicken. I soon passed them and it was much more fun.
Returned back to our ship. Lots of fun planned for the night.
Kona....Our Next Stop
Kona was a really fun island. The cruise ship stopped in the middle of the ocean and we took little boats over to the shore. We did some shopping as we waited for our parasailing adventure.
Parasailing in Paradise...
I had originally booked this activity knowing that Howie had never done anything like this before. So I decided maybe we should just go up 800 feet. I was not sure if he would want to go any higher. I had been skydiving before and loved it but did not want to FREAK out Steve. When we arrived they offered us a deal to go up higher. 12oo feet sounded fun to me. Steve agreed which honestly surprised me. As we were talking to them they said that we could go up 16oo feet if we were up to it. Inside I was going....YES, YES,YES. But thought no way will Howie agree to that. Well.... Steve must be able to read minds because he agreed!!! We had a riot! We were flying high that day!
Waiting for our turn to go out
Get ready for Take Off!
A kiss for luck and we're on our way.....YEAH
WoW what a view!
Having a good time making fun memories

Shoot... It is over already. I could do this all day. It is pretty relaxing up here!
Our Ship from the beaches of Kona
We had a picnic and then I laid out to get some more rays. Howie went snorkeling for a bit here and said it was the prettiest place to snorkel. He was pretty impressed. I snorkeled a little in the bay area but did not go out as far as Howie. Laying out and soaking up the sun is so relaxing to me. We both loved the island of Kona.
The cruise ship had lots of different restaurants inside. This was at a French restaurant. It was really fancy there. The atmosphere was awesome.
It's a small world!!! Our server came over and it ended up being a girl I worked with at Madelines Restaurant here in South Jordan. It was fun to see her here so far from home. The food was yummy at all of the restaurants. They had Mexican Food, Asian Food, Steak House, Buffet Style eating. Lots to choose from. We always seemed to choose Steak and Lobster. We had that at least 4 times on our cruise. I think I gained ten pounds!!!!
Next Stop....Kauai
Pesonally I think this was the most beautiful island of all.
We met at the Princeville Ranch for a Zip 'N Dip day of fun! We loaded into this truck and drove up to the top of the mountains.
I did not know that cows lived here in Hawaii. I thought it was cool to see them here just taking a siesta in the sun
They started us off of this little zipline. I thought that was as big as they would get but.....OH NO! We were just getting started! This is just a baby one!
All geared up with my trusty safety harness and ready to go!
Each zipline we approached was higher and longer than the last.
We zipped across the forests and valleys of the island
It was incredible!
We crossed this suspended bridge which was over a "HUGE" waterfall. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. The bridge was pretty wiggly! The waterfall ended up being a teeny-tiny- itsy-bitsy drip of water coming out of some rocks. They said to make sure you stopped to take a peak at it when you got to the center of the bridge but I did not bring my magnifying glass with me! It was pretty dinky! Kind of a let down!
Everybody in our group loved Howie. Each time he would take off he would Hoot and Holler.... Scream and Yell!!! It was pretty funny. We had such a good time!
This was a fun one. You really build up speed on these.
Here I come.....
Ready for landing
This one was so long I could not believe it! If you look by Howie's head you can see the line. If you follow it up you can see where it ends at the top of the other side of the mountain in the distance.
This was an all day adventure. I wish there were more hours in the day because I could do this forever. It was nice to walk around the island and see where our next zipline would take us. The view from way up here was simply beautiful!
We stopped for lunch at this little area where we swam around in this cove. It was so refreshing. As we swam and floated around in tubes, our guides made us a delicious lunch.
Our yummy feast! Pita Sandwiches were delicious!
This activity was my favorite of anythng we did in Hawaii. So sad it is over :( We did it all day long until about 5:00pm. After we finished we drove all the way out to the end of the island to a beach and watched the sun set. I did not want to leave.
LOVED IT!!! Kauai ROCKS !
Great News...We just recently found out that Steve's work is taking us to Hawaii in July and we will be staying in Kauai. I am so excited to go back to that beautiful island again... This island has a lot more to explore and enjoy! Can't wait!
Back on the ship as we left Kauai the next day.
Beautiful scenery and even better company! I feel so safe in the arms of my man.
This is the Na Pali Coast. They said that many movies are made on this beautiful mountain . We also saw a few whales as we pulled out. Usually the ship would travel from island to island as we slept but this time we left during the day. It was fun to see the waves and the power of that huge ship as we pulled out to leave.
Leaving the ship..... We had such a great time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We spent the next two days in Oahu before coming home.
Last Stop....Oahu
We first went to the Temple. It was very pretty and we have some awesome pictures on my video camera but I am not sure how to put them on this blog. We had a nice experience there as we did sealings for some Hawaiin Natives. I loved the spirit that was felt there that day.Polynesian Culture Center

I loved this man at one of the shows but the Holmans thought he was a dweeb!
I also enjoyed this show on water. They had different boats with dancers from the many of the islands. The tahitian dancers were my all time favorite. It was pretty entertaining. For some reason this is the only still shot picture I had from that day.
We went to a traditional Hawaiin Luau at the cultural center with Siri and Randy. They cooked the pig underground right in front of us. They entertained us with dancing, singing, and some ceremonial crap. The colors were pretty but the program was pretty lame! At least it does not compare at all to the shows in TAHITI.
Waiting for the "PIG" to cook! We are STARVIN" MARVIN ! Wake up Siri the food is almost ready. I don't hear that pig squealin' anymore! It was nice visiting with our friends that night.
Here is Howie trying his rendition of the tongue dancers from New Zealand....GROSS! All he is missing is the face paint. Look how long that tongue is Howie. You can lick your "chinny-chin-chin"
They had those visiting Hawaii for their Honeymoon or anniversaries come up and have a dance during the dinner. I love dancing with my man!
One last picture before we say goodbye to our friends
Our Honeymoon to Hawaii was incredible. We had a lot of rest and relaxation as well as fun and adventure. It was nice to spend time as a married couple and grow closer together. The memories made that week were awesome and really helped bond us together even more than before. We have a wonderful marriage and I am so glad I am married to my best friend!
