Family Swimming Party.....

My brother Danny came into town to visit the family. He lives in Arizona and we rarely get a chance to visit with him. It worked out perfectly because we had planned a family get-together at my house and he was actually able to make it!!! YEAHHH!

It was GREAT to see him again. He came early to help us set up for the party and I instantly PUT HIM TO WORK! He screwed down all of the loose boards on my deck so that no one would fall through, like I did a few weeks ago. Sorry to make you work on your vacation Danny but I sure did appreciate it!! You are awesome!

This video was meant to be a picture but my camera was on video mode. BUMMER! At least I caught Josh's mean deeds on tape. Poor Celene.... Your all wet now!!! Compliments of your cousin Josh. I usually can pull a picture off the video clip and was just going to post just the picture but my new computer won't do it. Just ignore the messed up video. When I figure out my computer I will probably switch it out.

Danny brought his dog, Shasta with him on his trip. Actually, Danny never leaves Shasta behind. They have a wonderful bond and it is so fun to watch Danny interact with her.

Nothing better than to see my daughter, April filled with so much happiness and love! I can't describe how wonderful it feels (as a mom) to see that smile back on her face!!! I haven't seen her this happy since her high school years. LOVE IT!!!

I noticed that a group had gathered around the deep end of the pool laughing pretty hard. When I went to check it out, I found the "love birds" having a little PHOTO SHOOT under water. Using the underwater camera to see who could get the BEST kissing picture. They found it was MUCH harder to kiss that way. They were having a great time trying though!

I was so happy to see that Cheryl and Bryan were able to make it to the party. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! They are such an adorable family and I was so glad that they were able to bring their kids and join us for this family get-together.

Teresa does an awesome job at planning all of our family get-togethers. If it wasn't for her I don't think we would ever do anything as a family. She planned some delicious Subway sandwiches for our lunch. PERFECT for a pool party picnic. YUMMY!!!

Annie was so funny because she would climb up the ladder portion of the slide and then instead of sliding down and getting wet, she would slide down the ladder to the bottom. She had a great time.

She would be brave enough to go on the SLIDE when the sprinkler part of the slide was turned off.

BURRRR! This water is COLD!!!

Whirlpool.... When you have a lot of people in the pool at one time it is always fun to make a whirlpool. Everyone gets moving aound the outside of the pool in the same direction. Before long you can lift up your feet and just float around the pool from the current that is made. You can get going pretty fast if it is all adults involved.

This video clip is not the greatest and neither is the whirlpool that was being made because they had float toys in the middle of it. But I decided to post it anyway so that I can have it for my record of the people who attended the party.

Once the toys were taken out the whirlpool worked much better. I didn't get a shot of the whirlpool when they REALLY got it going. Oh well...

Snowcones.....

The snowcones were a DEFINITE hit! The kids all had 2or 3 each.

Very refreshing for a HOT summer day!

There were some pretty strange combinations of flavors but I think the favorite flavor of all was the Bug Juice and Pinapple one. SOOOOO GOOD!

Relaxing Afternoon....

It was so relaxing to just lay around and visit with our family members. Ahhhhhh.....feels so good!
It was nice to catch up on what everyone has been up to in their lives.

My mom was a great sport. She was probably TOTALLY EXHAUSTED from the LONG afternoon and probably wanted to head inside to take a nap, but she chose to stay with the group and hang out. She had a purse full of candy for the grandkids and would exhange them for a HUG! All of the kids sure adore their "GRAMS"!!!

Swimming and the sun has a way of really wearing you out. After lunch many of us laid down to take a snooze.

More & More Swimming....

The TRUE DIEHARDS stayed in the pool and played while MANY slept.

Once I pulled out the long rafts, the races began.

They would line up and run and jump on them to see who would travel across the pool the fastest.

I then told Bryan how I pay anyone $20 if they can jump on the raft and float to the other side of the pool with out falling down. THEY MUST REMAIN STANDING THE ENTIRE TIME ACROSS!

He worked on it for quite some time. He came extremely close a few times BUT by the end of the day I still had my MOOLA! I was worried that he would be twenty bucks richer when he left the party.

The girls also wanted to take a shot at the money but I wasn't too worried about having to pay them because they would crash face first in the water the moment they jumped on the tube.

I thought Janie was going to try her hand at this new game but when it was her turn I think she chickened out and just landed on her belly and floated across. I was excited to see Bryan's sister "SCHOOL HIM" in the art of BALANCE but....NOT THIS TIME! She just gracefully glided to the other end of the pool. Maybe she just didn't want to embarrass him in front of his family! LOL

I think this picture of Janie sums up our entire day together. She is smiling from ear to ear as she plays in the water with sweet Cambri. I think EVERYONE who attended had a FABULOUS time.

I love my family so much and I especially love when we can get together to have fun and form more memories. These activities really draw us closer together. I am so thrilled that my brother Danny was able to come and be here with us. I only wish he lived closer. I am excited to do this again next year. I love this family tradition and I want to thank Teresa for all she does to help our family stay close. Dad would be thrilled out of his mind to see us enjoying ourselves together.
