Last Day at Disneyland.....

Can't believe that the girls woke up in such a GREAT mood. They were ABSOLUTELY exhausted from about 12 hours at the park the day before, but now they are rested and ready to go enjoy our last day at Disneyland.
They both wanted to take their stuffed animals with them on the rides but we talked them into just taking them to breakfast with us instead.

We didn't have enough money to buy tickets for "Kate" and "Whitney" so they had to stay at the hotel :)

Disneyland Day 3.....
This is probably the funniest thing I saw Alyssa do the entire trip! Once we got through the lines at the gate I looked around to find Lyss. I didn't see her and I just assumed that she had gone with Steve to pick up the stroller.
I went over to "our bench" and when I looked up a few minutes later.... I saw Lyss emerging from this crowd of people with her head buried in her map. She did NOT take her eyes off it until she reached the bench where Boo and I were sitting. She was oblivious to everything around her. TOTALLY focussed on that map of hers. I saw several people pointing at her and laughing as she passed them. It was so DANG CUTE!
She kept her eyes GLUED to the map as she climbed up on the bench.

Each day I took pictures of them with their maps because they were so DANG cute! This was the most important time of the day for the girls. It was SERIOUS business when it came to planning out the day!

The girls got along so well on this trip. They generally do anyways, but I was so impressed with the way they shared, and helped each other out. Here is Lyss pushing her big sis in the stroller. GOOD HELPER!

Me with my girls...
Our Disney Trip has been a blast!

Main Street Quartet....
At the beginning of Main Street these guys were performing. They did an awesome job. Watching them was a nice relaxing way to start our day off.
I love how the girls cuddled together during this little musical number we had stopped to watch.
Karah was playing with her sister's ear. She usually does that to her own ear when she is tired. She will just sit and rub it over and over. SO CUTE, SHE WAS DOING IT TO LYSS.
Sisters and best friends....

They stood together watching this show for about 25 minutes. JUST CUDDLING TOGETHER! Just Precious! You can tell that these girls love each other!

Lines, lines and more lines.....
We went on a handful of different rides this morning.
Pinnochio was one the kids enjoyed a lot.

After we had gone on a few rides it was time for an early morning snack. VERY NUTRITIOUS PAPA HOWIE!!!
He basically buys the girls anything they want. CAN YOU SAY.....SPOILED???

Well at least their sticky fingers kept them entertained as we waited in line for more rides. I have to admit....that stuff is really yummy! YEP - they shared!

More climbing....

I guess Boo wants the toad to taste the cotton candy still stuck on her fingertips.
YEP....her sticky hand is STUCK to the side of his face!!!

Papa and Lyss ready for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

By the last day the kids were PROS when it came to driving some of these rides. Lyss loved this ride so much. I love going on them with her because the ENTIRE time she is giggling. She really puts a smile on my face! What a joy to have her as my granddaughter.

Oh look... She is getting fancy with her driving now. She can steer it with her feet!
Since we had so much fun the past few days on the teacup ride we thought we would take a group picture on this one they have for display.

Family Fun.....NOW THAT'S MY "CUP OF TEA"
A final ride on the carousel before we leave this area. This time Papa and I jumped on a horse for a ride. The girls thought it was so funny.

So tender! Lyssi is holding her papa's hand so he won't be afraid.
They goofed off for a while trying to pull out the sword from the stone.

The girls thought if they worked TOGETHER, then it would come out. DON'T HURT YOURSELVES THERE!

Big Thunder Railroad was a big rollercoaster that we decided to take the girls on. After waiting in line for about 30 minutes we were told that Alyssa could NOT go on it because she was too short!

At first Lyssi was a little mad that Karah and her Papa got to ride on the rollercoaster and that she was NOT allowed. She threw a little FIT and refused to leave the area. I told her about the WINNIE the POOH ride and asked if she wanted to go CHECK IT OUT! She was okay with the idea that Grandma T would take her all by herself to an area WITHOUT Karah. As we walked to Critter Country she kept telling me, "Dis is gonna be SUN!" (fun)

Critter Country.....

This was a cute area of Disneyland which I didn't even realize EXISTED. It was LESS crowded and really a great area for small kids.

We saw Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!

The Winnie the Pooh ride was PERFECT for Alyssa.

When the ride began she told me to "Liss yo arms gramma T" Like dis!!" It was an ADORABLE ride with BRIGHT BOLD colors. I honestly LOVED it and so did Lyss. We went on it several times because there was basically NO LINE!! I love these types of rides where you don't have to stand and wait for an hour for a measley two minute ride.
Karah and Howie joined us for a ride on Winnie the Pooh after they got done with the railroad ride. When I saw Boo, she told me how scary the railroad ride was and how she almost fell out. I am glad that they didn't allow Lyss to go. The little rollercoaster in ToonTown freaked her out pretty bad. I would hate to see her after a "grown-up" rollercoaster!

The characters were all out and meeting the young kids. Once again Lyss didn't want much to do with them but Boo was not scared AT ALL!

This fox (or wolf -whatever it is) took hold of Karah's hand and when I was about to take their picture he RAN OFF WITH HER!! Seriously running through the park with Karah by his side. I followed and took a video clip of it but I accidently erased it. BUMMER! It was pretty funny to see the look on Boo's face when he finally decided to stop. VERY FUNNY...YOU BIG BAD WOLF!

Time For a FEAST.....

This turkey drumstick is BIGGER than Alyssa's HEAD!!! Good luck eating that one! Your belly is going to be FULL!

I love the look on her face as she looks this meal over. Like....How do you begin to eat something this big? How am I suppose to eat it when I can BARELY lift it! I think I'm gonna need some help!

Karah was NOT intimidated by this MONSTER meal in the least! She dug her teeth right in! YUMMMMMY!
Karah and Papa 'going to town' on their drumsticks.

Big sister helping out....

Lyss and I decided to share ours.

THAT IS A LOT OF FOOD!

Pixar Parade......

We headed over to see the parade at the California Adventure Park.

Karah really wanted us to buy one of these balloons with Mickey Mouse in the middle of them. We had seen some kids with them yesterday and she thought it was so cool that they light up when you squeeze them. There was no way we were going to drag a balloon around all day with us. She decided to go up to this guy and asked if she could just hold them for a minute. He was so nice and let her, BUT my picture didn't turn out too well. She thought it would be cool if she lifted up off the ground when she held onto them. Like in the movie "UP"

We had about 45 minutes before the parade was to begin so the girls got out in the street and started dancing to the music. At first it was just Alyssa dancing away. After about 15 minutes of non stop dancing and twirling....Karah joined her sister.

Lyssi zipped her jacket aroung her waist so that she could have a skirt and she said, "Now I can dance like a princess!"

I was certainly entertained and so were the people on our side of the road who were lined up waiting for the parade.

They tried dancing and spinning together. Karah said she had seen people dance like this on TV! Look out DANCING WITH THE STARS! Here comes the Barrett girls!!! LOL

Before the parade began Papa had gone and bought the girls a treat. YUMMY, STICKY, lollypops!

Lyssi is patiently waiting for Papa to unwrap her treat!

Mmmmmm! "DEE-yis-us!" (delicious)

Boo is anxious for the parade to begin...

It is crazy that I take a picture of everything these kids do but I have a purpose. Ever since I can remember Alyssa has been able to "down" more water than any kid I know. She is continually THIRSTY! In fact, April had her checked out for diabetes because of her "NEVER-ENDING NEED FOR WATER". She is quite the little "GUZZLER"

Steve Cheezin it before the parade....

Great Seats Once Again....

We had super seats for the Celebrate Parade on Main Street and now once again, we have the best seats for this Parade in California Adventure. No kidding....No matter what NEW CHARACTER rounded the corner....they would HEAD STRAIGHT FOR US!

It was like we had a radar on us or something.... They would come specifically to us, shake our hands or give us high five, and then return back to their singing or dancing.

It was NOT like they were going down the row of kids seated along the parade route to high five a bunch of them. NOPE....just our girls. CRAZY! As I looked over the videos I took from the parade , about 10 different times they came to the sidelines to see US! It was SO FUN and exciting for the kids to be that close to all of these fun Pixar Characters and performers.

Alyssa really liked this portion of the parade. We had just gone on a ride in Disneyland where you can shoot these aliens. That was one of the cutest rides I went on with her. She was amazingly good at shooting the targets. Then she saw those little green aliens in the parade and she was so excited. Once they started blowing bubbles throughout the streets, Lyss was determined to go and try to pop them all. Sorry about my nagging at the end of the video clip. That is what my poor husband has to listen to EVERYDAY! Just didn't want her trampled in the middle of the parade. THAT WOULD NOT BE PRETTY!

I was sad to see this parade end. It was one of the best parades I have ever seen. SO MUCH FUN! LOVED IT!!!!

Bugs Life....

After the parade we headed back to Bugs Life. They have a 3D show they put on there that was amazing. I LOVED IT! Probably the thing I liked the most at California Adventure. We got to wear these AWESOME bug glasses. It was UNDERGROUND so we could feel what it was like to be a bug. So much fun!

Here is one of my CUTE bugs....

We also went on a bug ride which reminded me of the teacups.

The kids let Papa do all of the work because they weren still "working" on finishing their suckers.

I am surprised they were even allowed to bring the suckers on the ride with them. They could poke out an eye or something while they are spinning so fast.

Mmmmm....mmmmmm!

I don't think the girls took these suckers out of their mouths for at least 3 rides.

Karah really wanted to go on the caterpillar ride that takes you on a ride through different foods.
Had to get a picture of the candy corn! It is one of my favorite seasonal candies. YUMMY!

The kids were one big stikcy mess and we had nothing to really clean them up with. UNTIL THIS....

Right outside the Bugs Life area were these fun sprinklers. I dared Steve to run through them with Lyssi. He agreed to do it because they were just "drizzling" out a teeny tiny bit of water. Then once he was started running around in them, the sprinklers came on and they both got DRENCHED! I am surprised that Alyssa did not scream and cry. She actually thought it was funny. I thought it would be a GREAT way to clean all the "STICKINESS" off her face. NOPE! Still there :)

The sun was setting and I thought this was so cool. We really needed to have another day to enjoy all of the park that we didn't have time to see.

I guess it gives us something to look forward to on our next visit to Disneyland/California Adventure

We were waiting around for the elelctrical parade that was scheduled that night. We came across this area which I had no idea even exhisted!

I think it was called "Bear Country" or something like that. NOT SURE!

At first Karah did not want to go inside. I think she was exhausted and just wanted to see the parade and then go home. Karah and I had gone inside to check it out and she came back screaming with excitement to tell Howie that he needed to come see!!! It was a park area with lots of slides, places to climb, rope bridges, and ziplines. AWESOME!!!! We played here for about an hour until it was time for the parade.

I wish we would have found this area of California Adventure sooner. The kids had a BLAST here. Steve is a KID at heart too and he always makes things just a little bit funner. Here he is hopping along the rope bridge with Lyss giggling the whole way!

Karah found this zip-lining area in the park and she really wanted to go. I thought that she was WAY too small for this but the lady said that she could go and they would watch her carfully to make sure she didn't get hurt. Most kids would zip on down to the end and the force was so strong that they couldn' t even hold on. I was sure that Boo would get hurt. WELL.....she was fierless as marched up to the starting point-climbed on-BUT couldn't keep her feet grounded, so she left a little early. Luckily she held tight and she was not going too fast so she was safe. She ran around and did this zip line over and over and over again. She loved it so much. I guess we should take her to Hawaii with us and try some of those ziplines.

Karah discovered some animal tracks and we spent quite a bit of time trying to track down the animal. It was getting really dark by now and she would go on her hands and knees and feel the different marks made from the animals.

She was so interested in these tracks and was convinced that there were REAL animals roaming around in the trees and bushes.

She even stopped a few people as they were coming into the park area, to inform them about the tracks that she had seen, and for them to watch out for the wild animals. She then insisted on telling the "Ranger" out front of the park, so that she would be aware of the possible danger that people may be in if they went into the park area. SERIOUSLY this was the cutest I have ever seen Boo act. SO CONCERNED and SO COMPLETELY i nterested in all of it. I LOVED IT! It is hard to put into w0rds how adorable she was that night. A memory I hope to NEVER forget. Oh....to be a child again!

Electrical Parade.....
Well, because we spent so much time at the Bear Park we didn't get the best of seats for the parade but we were able to sit by some ROWDY teenagers and they attracted a lot of the floats to come our way. The more noise you make, the more chance you get of them coming up to you for a moment. so once again we got some awesome, up close, views of these floats and the characters in the parade.

The girls were VERY impressed with all of the lights and fun floats in this "night-time" parade.

I know this picture is a little blury but I absolutely LOVE the look on Lyssi's face. SHEER JOY! This describes how our visit to Disneyland has been. SO MUCH FUN, EXCITEMENT, LAUGHTER, and memories!

The parade was very impressive. The amount of time and creativity to make these floats was unreal. I think the girls liked the Pete's Dragon the most. Especially when the smoke started coming out of his nostrils. VERY COOL!

Can't believe our time is over here at Disneyland. SO SAD! We should have done another day. Steve and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the girls the past few days. It was so much fun and I think we had as much fun as they did. SO MANY AWESOME MEMORIES!

Goodbye DISNEYLAND!

WE'LL BE BAAAACK!
