I was a little amused when I returned home to find April greeting me at the top of the stairs with a panicked look on her face. She was frantically trying to explain some BAD news by saying to me.... "something has happened today..... you will probably be mad....and I am really, really sorry!" She kept apologizing and I was pretty curious as to what happened while I was away. When April finally opened the door to the bedroom, to "REVEAL" my wonderful surprise, I just about started to laugh my head off.
Boo was certainly busy during her nap time...NOT SLEEPING.... but rather spending the hour or so PEELING OFF MY WALLPAPER and meticulously putting them into little piles for me.
I didn't want her to think it was an okay thing to do, so I tried really hard to have a serious face and explain that she should not have done it. When I asked her how I would fix it now her response was "That's easy, just glue it!" She held up little pieces to the wall and tried to show me how it would be done.
Well I moved the bed and put a big recliner in the corner to try to hide it and she promised to leave the wallpaper alone. When I moved her bed to another part of the room WELL.....you guessed it! That portion of the wall got attacked. After moving the bed 3 separate times I finally gave up. She just couldn't control her URGE to PEEL!!!!
It has been 2 years and the room still has the torn wallpaper. When April moved out I would walk into the room and look at the walls and my little gold gift bag up on my shelf ( I had to keep it) It would just make me smile. Sweet memories from my dear little granddaughter.
She was all smiles when I gave her my permission to rip it all off!
"I'm in HEAVEN!"
She had quite the technique.
She removed more than April and I put together!
She took time to smile for the camera but her little fingers never stopped. You can see they were still picking even as I snapped these pictures. She loved it!
April used this activity as a stress reliever....
She's just like her daughter- LOVES to pick at things.
Perfect thing to do as we visited together for several hours.
April has had a tough time lately so it was nice to see her relax!
Lyss joined in the fun but I don't think it was that entertaining for her. She just loves to be ANYWHERE that her mommy is. She is like April's little shadow! So cute...I love her smile. It brightens up our days!
April and I talked for several hours and Boo didn't stop once. She worked her way around the room quietly working. We didn't get it all finished that night and when April mentioned that they were going to come and visit grandma T again soon, Karah was so excited because then she could help peel some more! Who needs toys when you have a room to demolish?
When Howie got home Karah showed him her surprise!
The room was almost finished. Yeah!
If anyone out there needs some wallpaper removed,
I know the girl to hire!!!!

good to see you on here again...wondering if you fell of the face of the earth or something. Dang...if I would have known you would have skydived with me...man...I couldn't get anyone to go! I LOVED it...or did I say that already!
Love ya!

Tell karah I'd love to spend next summer with her, stripping obnoxious looking wallpaper off at our So. Jordan house. I'm sure it would cure her of ever wanting to peel anything again. I think it's cute you saved your present from her.
I think that's why my arms and legs started to heal-I was picking the walls instead! I wish I had wallpaper here to pick. Maybe we should wallpaper some walls just so we have something to pick off! Karah was all business working on her job! Sorry again about the initial peeling! We would LOVE to help peel at Siri's old house!
