My Own Sexy Handyman.....

We have had a lot going on the past few months with visitors, traveling and projects around the house. This has definitely been a busy, busy summer. Ashlee and Tyson have come over several times to help with fixing up our home. Steve was working a lot of June so he was not available. Well, now he is home and he decided to try to work on some fix ups around the house. He was always torn down in his past marriage about not being a "HANDY MAN" so since he married me he has tried to fix things around the house on his own. He has fixed some wiring in our bathrooms, some plumbing, and now he is about to try his hand at building something to store items in our garage. I love the fact that he is so willing to give these things a try. He is quite the man!
My "ex" had made these big boxes with wheels on the bottom to store supplies in them. This way they tuck under the garage area to give us more room in the garage. We had space for an additional one so Steve set out to build it.

Here is my man with his trusty saw.

Well, actually this saw is pretty LAME!

Steve was having a tough time getting this saw to cut through this plywood. It would just stall over and over again. At first I thought it was because Howie just needed to get used to using it. But we soon found out that was not the case at all!

I had used this saw to rebuild my deck several years ago and the blade on it was TOAST!

It was too late to go to the store to buy a new blade so Aiden our neighbor friend next door brought over their hand saw for Howie to use. He worked on it for quite some time and then because it was getting so late we decided to finish it in the morning. (With a new blade for my power saw)

He worked hard on constructing it and making sure things were just right.....

He probably wanted me to put down my Stinkin' camera and give him a hand but Howie is a great sport! He puts up with my "Madness" about documenting every single event in our lives.

We had the help of our little shadow, Aiden. He is always at our home willing to lend a helping hand. He is a hard worker and a cute kid!

Putting on the wheels is the last step. It is almost complete and I think Howie did an awesome job. We found out just a few hours after he completed this, that our company was coming in town sooner than we had anticipated, so this box which Steve made came in handy to just shove all of our garage "Junk" in to get it out of the way. Thanks for all you do Howe!

I love my "handy man".

Here is my editorial.....

I know Steve has been torn down in the past because of his inability to do some of these types of projects. It just doesn't come easy for him. He never learned it. I personally don't feel like that is what is important in a person.

I had the most amazing dad in this entire world and my dad did not have those skills either. BUT.... My dad was the best person ever! He had the kindest most tender heart, the funniest personality, everyone loved to be around him. He had a very strong testimony of the gospel and most importantly he treated my mom like a queen.

HOWIE IS EXACTYLY like my DAD!!!

He has those SAME qualities which I loved so much about my dad. I feel that how you treat someone in this life is far more important that what skills you are or are not blessed with. Howie not only treats others with love and respect but he also is willing to try things that are a struggle for him to do. He has the most positive attitude about life and others. He is always giving people the benefit of the doubt and he has the most forgiving heart. I feel blessed to have "MY HANDY MAN" in my life. It is fun to try new projects with him and to watch him learn and grow. Who knows.... maybe someday we will build a new house together! NOT!!!! Heck if you have the money let someone else do the sweat work!!! :) :) :)

Tanya,

I have enjoyed reading your posts! What a wonderful way you have of putting words together to share so much with others...

I think someday you and your Howie will build a lot more than just houses, but worlds without number~

(I was in April's ward a few years ago, she was such a great gal to help with my children after I divorced my husband. She made it so much easier to deal with Sacrament Meeting and all that other stuff. I snagged the link to your page from hers~)

By the way: is your husband related to a John Francis Howell? (he's my uncle -- married my aunt about 22 years ago; he was my aunt's Miracle after a pretty bad 27-year-marriage she had; Unk John had two marriages before this one - he had a divorce and 2nd wife had passed away... I am grateful to you for sharing you and your Prince's story, truly, it is great to read!)

Thank you again,

Kari

He really is great, isn't he! I love how much he's like Grandpa! I think he is too-maybe Grandpa sent him over to you so he could treat his little girl like a queen!
