Legoland Part 3......

WOW....we had a ROUGH morning before we headed to Legoland but we survived the tantrum and we are on the way.  We encountered a lady who just couldn't resist BUTTING into our business.  Don't mess with me unless you want the "Rath of Tanya".  Just as a side note.....if you happen to see a child having a meltdown....IT IS NONE OF YOUR DANG BUSINESS.  Butt out and get on with your day!  Just sayin'
Anyway....life is good now and we are headed to the park.  The weather was beautiful and I am so glad that Jack and I were able to join Papa Howie and Luke   :)
It was very convenient to have our hotel so close to the park.  Loved it!
We're  here!!!

Cool Lego Dinosaur...
Some cool BOY toys....
Bob the Builder with the Boys.....
 My sexy dancing partner....
I had to take a picture of this....NO LINES!!!!  I love amusement parks if you do NOT have to wait in lines all day.
PERFECT, Just the way I like it :)   Walk right onto the ride.  Can't get better than this!
This ride was surprisingly FUN!  Wish we would have thought to go on it a few more times while the lines were so short.
Luke at the wheel...
Spinning bumper cars....
Luke was so cute today.  He had never been on rides like these before and he was ALL THUMBS UP!  Everytime I went to take his picture he would get this adorable smile on his face and give me the thumbs up!  I think he was enjoying himself  :)
Airplanes....
Sliding fun....
We split up on some rides and Jack was my partner.  The majority of this ride he plugged his ears and hummed.  I am not sure if the vibrations from the track made his voice do crazy things or what.  It was so funny and I couldn't figure out why he was doing it.  He wanted to go on the ride again so that I could HUM.  Didn't happen though :)
Steve wanted to take the kids on this Log Ride.  We waited longer for this ride than anyother.  OVER AN HOUR!
It was pretty lame but they made a BIG splash each time they came down this slope.  It was such a BIG splash that they drenched the people standing in the line.  Pretty funny
The boys really liked this ride.  It was the first one that they were able to go on ALL BY THEMSELVES.
Brayden was so excited.  He was grinning from ear to ear.
My monsters waiting for the Dragon ride...

The Splash Battle ride was perfect for the HOT day.
It is basically a HUGE water fight with the other SHIPS.  The object is to DRENCH the other ships before they can get you.  I had a pretty good seat so I came out of it relatively dry.
Howie on the other hand....GOT SOAKED!
They also have these WATER GUNS for spectators to drench you with.  I soaked a bunch of people (most of which were innocent bystanders) with my water pistol!  OOOOOPS!
Luke getting hugs from Papa.
He looks TIRED!
Time for a snack.  We decided to try these Apple Fries and whip cream.  I had never heard of them before.  They were TASTY!!
Luke thinks it is better to just stick his TONGUE in the whip cream instead of getting his fingers dirty!  YUMMMMY
They had an area where the kids could go and build and create things with Legos.
We had fun looking around at the cool displays made of Legos.  Some of them were so creative and it was neat to see how detailed they all were.

My computer is finally working so I decided to repost these next two pictures from yesterday.  They FINALLY rotated!!!!  Both boys thought it was soooo cool to be inside a Lions mouth.
Jack kept saying....
Aaahhhhh he ATE me!
Luke kept putting his arm near the teeth and would say....BITE ME - BITE ME!  He is a crack up

The next few picts are what I guess made LEGOLAND so popular. It was AMAZING!!!  Miniature replicas of diffferent cities and famous places.  Who thinks of these things?  I guess I did NOT do my homework on this place.  I had NO IDEA that this part of the park even exhisted.  I just thought it was an amusement park with rides.  I would love to know more details about the creator of this place.  Wonder how long it took them to make these?

I could NOT believe the detail work...
Las Vegas
WOW!
Treasure Island....

Brayden LOVED driving the Lego Boats around on the water.  He said he wanted to stay there FOREVER!  Little does he know that we did NOT put money into the machine.  He is pretty easily entertained.

The next few pictures have a story behind them. Brayden had asked me several times, the day before, if he could get a stuffed DUCK.  I guess I should change that word from "asking" to BEGGING me for it.

There is a Midway section in Legoland where they have carnival type games set up to win prizes.  Brayden had his eye on the FLOATING DUCK game.  Everytime we passed it he would start again.  PLEASE, PLEASE  ppppppPlease!

I told him that if he behaved all day then when we came back with Papa Howie the next day, we could play the game.  He woke up in the morning talking about how he was going to WIN a BIG duck.

I was hoping that he would forget,  because with those games you RARELY actually win the darn thing.  Brayden doesn't handle disappointment too well.  We made it through the majority of the day without mention of the duck.  Then we passed a ride which was nearby.  The BEGGING began!  It was TIME....no more putting it off.  We gave Jack some money to play and he was CONVINCED that he was going to win the BIG ONE!   Well...it did not happen.  He won a small Pirate Duck.  He seemed quite disappointed and could not understand why the lady would not give him the duck that he wanted.  I was proud of how he handled the situation.  He sadly took the duck and told the lady thank you.

Then Howie asked Luke if he wanted a turn at the game.  WELL...guess who won the BIG ONE?  Yep...Luke got the one that Jack had his eye on all day that day before.  Luke had NO interest in playing the game or even winning the duck.  GO FIGURE!
I thought there was going to be a GIANT tantrum from Jack so we quickly started telling him all the benefits of having his COOOL little pirate duck.
The fact that it could fit right in his pocket...He had his own "pocket pet"
He could even go on the rides with him.

We can be pretty convincing when we need to be.  Well it ended up that Brayden LOVED his duck and took him around EVERYWHERE the rest of the trip.  In fact it was so cute to watch him as he pet his head softly and told his new duck "you are my new buddy"

The Fire Show....
They have a cute comedy show with firefighters here at Legoland.  We had watched a small portion of it the day before.  They boys were intrigued with it because their dad is a firefighter.  They were going up to complete strangers and telling them that their dad was a firefighter.  They said...."My dad is the best firefigher in the world!"  We decided to watch the entire show when Papa could be with us.
It was about a misfit group of firefighters in training..
Luke posing with the star of the show.  Looks like Luke taught him the "thumbs up pose".

Winding down the day....
Boat ride around the park to see more Lego creations...
I love these rides because it gives "us old people" a chance to sit down and relax.  I just about fell asleep on this one!  If it weren't for the boys excitedly pointing things out to us...I would have been ZONKED out and in DREAMLAND!  I can't believe how sleepy I was.
Goodbye to Legoland....
We had a great time with the boys.  Time to head back to the hotel for some relaxing and some FUN!
We got back just in time to catch this beautiful sunset by our pool.  It was GORGEOUS!  I wish I had a better camera so that I could have REALLY captured the beauty of that night.
We roasted marshmellows and made yummy smores.
Luke had NO desire WHAT SO EVER to get into the pool this late at night.  He kept telling me that it was TOO LATE to be swimming because you are suppose to swim when it is sunny outside- NOT when there are STARS!!!!  It was his way to avoid swimming.  He is not a FAN of swimming....even in our pool in our backyard.  It takes a LOT to talk him in to getting in.   I did NOT mind.  That gave me an excuse to not go swimming either.  The two of us "Chilled" out on the loungers and Jack and Howie played in the pool.
Brayden could swim for hours if we let him.  I think he was the VERY last person out of the pool.  He is our LITTLE FISH!  He thought it was so awesome to be able to swim in the dark, under the stars.
I love being married to Howie.  He makes the BEST grandpa EVER!  He does all of the things that I don't really want to do, like swimming with our grandson for hours in the freezing weather.  Thanks Papa Howie...you ROCK!
Luke looks like he is about to CHECK OUT!
Time to go get ready for bed

We had a fabulous time with our two grandsons the past few days.  I am so glad that we took this opportunity to bring them along with us.  We made some wonderful memories that we will always cherish.  We love them both so much and look forward to spending more time with them  in the future.

GOODBYE.....CALIFORNIA
