Lego Land Part 1.....

January 13. 2011

Steve had a training for Miracle-Ear held in California so we decided to make a TRIP of it.  We chose to take the boys along with us to go visit Lego-Land.  We flew into SLC and Ash had the boys ready to go.
The boys were so dang excited.  After making it through security, they couldn't wait to get their shoes on and board the plane.
 Goofing off with Grandma T
They keep growling and making a growling face.  Is this some indication as to what we have in store?  Two MONSTERS in California?  Look out.....here we come!
Not sure why I think this is so stinkin' cute.  I just do :)
My boys....
On their way for a weekend of FUN!
Luke is patiently waiting for the plane to arrive.
There was a delay so the boys had a chance to talk with the pilot.  He told the boys that when the plane arrived, he would let them on first so that they could come up to the cock-pit to see how things work.  He was soooo nice and Luke was pretty excited!
The plane FINALLY arrived!
Time to board!
Jack-Jack in the Pilot's seat
 The boys checking things out
The co-pilot hurried and let Brayden put on the Captain's personal hat.  He was "keeping watch" as I snapped a few pictures.  He said that he could get in trouble if he got caught!  Nice guy :)
The boys both got their WINGS :)
Papa Howie with Brayden Jack
Grandma T with her buddy, Luke
Brayden was pretty STOKED to see that he had his OWN TV right in front of him!
Luke loved his window seat.  He was able to watch the plane get de-iced.
Jack on the other hand was not impressed.  He took this opportunity to CRASH.  We had a late night flight and the boys were so dang tired.
Luke stayed awake the entire flight....
Once we arrived in Californis we got our car and headed to get some food.  The boys said they were STARVED.  Notice Brayden is wide awake again, and making his MONSTER pose!  I wish so bad I had a picture of the Palm Tree that he saw while we waited in line at the fast food place.  It was ADORABLE what Jack-Jack said.  "WOW Grandma T!  I see a REAL LIVE palm tree.  Right before my EYES!!!"  "Look!  Can you see the REAL LIVE palm tree???"  It is funny to see what a child thinks is cool!  There were palm trees lining the street but he spotted the one RIGHT in FRONT of our car and he was so excited.
 Luke is STILL wide awake!
Does this kid EVER get tired???
They are OUT For the COUNT!

It was funny, the moment they finished eating they were both GONE. It was as if someone flipped the switch and TURNED them OFF!  Seriously this picture was taken less than 5 minutes after we left the parking lot of Taco Bell.  They went from growling and acting silly to this DEEP, DEEP sleep.
We drug Jack up to the room and he was ZONKERS!  He didn't move a muscle!
ZZZzzzzzzzz......
Luke on the other hand got his second wind again.  The excitement of the HOTEL room got to him.  He had just spent the weekend with us for his birthday date, and I think he thought that we would start playing with him.
He started exploring the room and seeing the COOL things that the hotel had to offer us.  He took our "dog" apart and then tried to figure out how to reassemlble it.
He took me into the bathroom and informed me that I needed to take pictures of all of the fun stuff.  "Get your camera, Grandma T....Here is a pretty flower!"
He called this arrangement a SEASHELL
After he realized that we were NOT going to play....he got into bed and fell fast asleep.  Howie had an early meeting and I was taking the boys to the Sealife Aquarium while he was gone.  Time to get rested up for our fun filled weekend together.

Up and at 'em....
The boys woke up in the BEST mood....
It's gonna be a FUN day....
But not before BREAKFAST.....

It was sooooo funny to watch Brayden in the restaurant. It had a FABULOUS, DELICIOUS breakfast buffet and Brayden came back to the table with Chocolate chips and one piece of cantalope. He told me that this was going to be the BEST breakfast he has ever had in his life!  LOL
I did encourage him to get a few more things to fill up his belly for the day.
Now we're talking.....YUMMY strawberries!

Time to head on over to SeaLife....
It was so nice to have our hotel right across the street.  After a very short walk we arrived for our day of FUN!
We saw some pretty awesome displays of fish and sea critters
The boys thought these bubbles were pretty awesome.  They would climb under them and pretend to be swimming along with the fish.
This was Jack's FAVORITE fish of ALL!  Everytime he would pass it, he stopped and said, "Yep!  You are the cooooolest fish I have EVER seen!"  So funny!
We were able to enjoy a fun movie .....
And see some AWESOME Lego creations.....

The boys LOVED playing with the Lego Castle....

Hands On......
Luke LOVED this section of SeaLife.  He was NOT one BIT afraid or hesitant to touch and interact with these creatures.  He would just climb up....roll up his sleeves and GO AT IT!

Brayden on the other hand just wanted to take a quick peek.  Notice Luke in the backgound of the picture...he is about to fall in because he is stretching so far to touch one of them.  Brayden's hands were safely tucked in his pockets most of the time.

Brayden spotted this "thing" (not sure what it is) and it was so fun to watch this man interact with Brayden to encourage him to actually TOUCH the darn thing.  Watch the video to see him as he is "acting dumb" in an attempt to get Jack to get "CLOSE AND PERSONAL" with the THING!
He just about TOUCHED IT!!!!
It was a pretty awesome place and the boys really enjoyed themselves.  It was fun to relax in the nice cool building and watch my boys as they were intrigued with each of the different areas and displays.   FUN DAY!
There goes the "MONSTER" pose again.
Must be a BOY thing!

Time to go check out a few spots at Lego Land while we wait for Howie to finish up on his training.
Goodbye Sea Life....It was GREAT
