We decided to go see it even though it was closed. I had actually tried to locate it during the day one day and was not able to find it. When Howie got off work one night we set off with our GPS and finally found it (not too far away from where we were staying). It was nestled in the nearby mountains positioned high on top of this hill overlooking the valley.
Anyone who knows anything about me knows that I am NOT a fan of SAGE BRUSH! This temple was pretty even though no matter which way you looked you could see that AWFUL STUFF!
I love how all of the spots chosen for the temples to be built on happen to be up high where all can see. This is the back side of the temple looking out over the valley below.
Here are some shots of this gorgeous temple....
And my GORGEOUS man!
Is gorgeous a feminine word? Well I guess I should say my HOT MAN! He is such a hunk!
We got a great deal on this "economy" car. I think the rental agency was out of the cheapo cars so they gave us this one instead for the same price. LUCKY for us! It was fun to drive around with the top down and the wind in our hair.
I love to look around the temple grounds and see the beautiful flowers. Each temple we have visited are so unique in their own beauty. Here are some of the pretty flowers surrounding this Holy Place.....
I should have taken a picture of the gross sagebrush that was all around outside the temple grounds. The area surrounding the temple was not too impressive but once you enter the gates to the temple area you feel like you are in the Garden of Eden. Very pretty!
There was no one around to take our picture so I tried the timer on my camera. I had to run like mad to get over to Howie before it BEEPED and snapped the shot. It was a very windy day and my hair is flying everywhere but none of that matters when I am in the arms of my eternal companion. I wish the temple was open this day but maybe next time!
Thanks Howie for taking me to Reno with you.
Lots of fun memories.
We saw this sign and just had to get a picture of Howie next to it. When I first met Steve on the internet I knew him as "COOL HOWIE" . That was his internet name. He did prove to be very COOL and I love him so much.

Pretty pics! Bummer that it wasn't open! Sagebrush and bagpipes-two of your MOST FAVORITE things and you got to see one of them! Awesome! Please tell me you weren't parked in the handicapped parking spot! Just for the picture, right?! I love the flowers!
