Both girls came with a baby sling, which April made for them tp carry their teddy bears.
Karah showed off her necklace that she made at Aunt Ashlee's house. These are really cool and I want to make them with my kids at school. LOVE EM!
Hey you don't need your "Shades" in the house, BOO.
Silly girl!
I had just gone to the dollar store and found these cool mexican hats. I thought the grandkids would have a fun time playing with them. They look so crazy.
Alyssa hiding under hers.....
Peek-a-Boo
Papa Howie's HOME.... YEAH!
I love the grandkids reaction every single time they see Steve. There are lots of squeals, and giggles. Lots of hugs and kisses. They are always so excited to see him.
Hey....Save some kisses for me!
I am sure the reason they are always so happy to see Howie is because they know that the FUN is about to begin! Here he is with the girls in his "Football Hold" and ready to run up and down the stairs. He is a fun Papa!
By the time Howie got home it was about time for bed. We read the scripture stories with April and the girls. Karah just eats this up. April does this each night together as a family. Her girls sure do know the stories in the scriptures.
The scripture story for the night was David and Goliath. Howie always tells a great story. He brings things to life!
Lyssa was nearby playing. She didn't seem to really want to sit and listen to scriptures.
Baby Evan was thirsty :)
Lyss is so quiet sometimes I forget she is around. I often find her playing by herself. Here she is making a pot holder. We only hear from her IF there is a problem....
Yep! This is definately a problem. She got the frame stuck on her head. I guess she thought this would be a cute necklace or something. She is so funny.
Almost time for bed.
You can't go to sleep without a few bedtime stories.
Lyss is sure interested in THIS book.
Craft time.....
The next day we decided to do some crafts. Maybe some more butterflies. We got out the paper, glue, glitter, pipe cleaners, and pom poms and played for quite some time.
Once kids got the hang of the glitter they had a hey day!
There was glitter everywhere.....
Lyss your butterfly is BEAUTIFUL!
Alyssa's own work of art.....
She knew exactly what color she wanted where.....
She decided she wanted pom poms on her butterfly wings.
Looks cute to me!
Lyssi's "Glitterfly"
Lyssi's masterpiece....
Karah is hard at work making her picture "JUST RIGHT"!
TaaaDaaaa!
Karah loved the pipe cleaners...
Pretty nifty, "Boo"
Even April enjoyed our activity.....
Our finished projects.....
While we were finishing up Lyssi was quietly making another work of art. ON MY CARPET! She had got hold of a marker and drawn all around my playroom. When we found out- she just started crying. She laid there and just wailed! I think she thought she was going to be in BIG trouble. We just said she had to help clean it up and the tears began to FLOW!
The past few days I have been working with Karah on writing some numbers and letters. She knows all of the capital letters but writing the lower case seems so hard for young kids. I can't believe how many children come to school not knowing how to write lower case. For all you young parents out there.....That is what your kids need. The uppercase letters are mostly straight lines and so it comes faster for kids to pick it up. Have them practice the others too. They will be farther along in school if you do this. :)
I also taught her the touch dots for her numbers. She picked up up quickly. This sure helps when they start math.
Great Job Boo! They look awesome!!!
This last video is of Boo doing her touch math. If you can count you can do touch math. It works with addition, subraction, mulitplication and division. I have taught a lot of kid this concept and it is pretty successful. She had done the whole page of math problems and I wanted to get it recorded. She seemed to struggle a bit as I was recording but when she actually did the problems she did it with ease. She is going to be one smart cookie.
