Float Tubin'.....

May 31, 2008

Shawn invited us to go fishing with him. The last time we were with him I was freezing my tush off! This looks much better than ice-fishing.

All geared up and ready to go.....

Our first Tube Fishing trip together
This is going to be a new adventure......a new memory!

Howie getting his line untangled from the weeds....

What a peaceful, calm morning.....

Shawn caught the first fish.....

Shoot, that was suppose to be me!

Shawn just earned the first $5.00

For years now each time we go fishing we have a contest to see who catches the first fish, the biggest fish, and the most fish. $5 for each winner. I hate to see anyone but me win this cuz I am a sore loser. For those who know me I am quite competitive when it comes to fishing. I better get serious now.

Ouch! That hook in the finger is not a good thing!

Once Howie settled in and fixed his line and his tube he was able to catch some fish! Way to go Harper!

Cheesin' it on the lake.....

We could not have asked for a nicer day. No wind, a few whispy clouds, calm water and fish that were biting! I love this sun dog in the sky. Do you see the rainbow in the clouds. Pretty cool!

This place was up Ogden Canyon and I can't remember the name. I think it is something like Lost Creek or Red Creek. I'd ask Shawn the name but he is deployed right now and won't be home until August. BUMMER! I miss him a ton!

I finally kicked it into gear and was on a roll. I caught the biggest fish as well as the most fish. Up until the end of the day when Shawn started catching up. I think I had eleven fish or maybe more. I can't remember now because I kept losing count. I released most of them. The fish on this lake were much smaller than the ones I am used to catching at Strawberry or Soldier Creek. But it was fun anyway.

Just starting..... Look out Shawn and Howie. I plan on winning the rest of the mooola $$$$$

Shawn that doesn't count! But it did put up a good fight. It took you a long time to pull that lunker in.

Another one for Howie.....

I don't recall how many everyone actually ended up catching but Shawn claims he caught up to me and we were tied for the most caught in the day.

He'll have to fight me for this money or we could have a rematch! I hate fighting so a REMATCH IT IS!!!

Can't wait to go back fishing again. I absolutely love it. I am so happy that Steve enjoys it almost as much as I do. I am also glad that Shawn always thinks of me when he heads up the mountain. I love getting calls from him asking us to join him. YES-YES-YES is always my reply!

As I was out on the lake I looked up toward our car and these cows were there grazing away. There were 5 or 6 of them surrounding the cars just munching. I took this picture from out on my tube. I was actually shocked how close I was able to zoom up on them.

We always travel up to go fishing early in the morning before the sun is even up so the ride home was a pleasant surprise. Very beautiful scenery we missed on the way up. Gorgeous Canyon.

Beautiful yellow pastures. Looked like little flowers but I bet they were fields of dandilions. Whatever they were it was pretty.

Here is the best scenery ever. My man fast asleep in my lap. Hey Howie, Where is your seatbelt? Good thing Karah is not in the car!

We made it home and now the fun (or not so fun) part. Cleaning everthing up and packing it all away again.

Karah is doing a nice job cleaning off the equipment.....

I think this girl is related to me....

She loves playing in the water!

Time to clean the fish. They did not have a place up at the lake so I get to do it here. Oh yeah baby, blood- guts- chopped off heads. It's all good!

But before we do we have to kiss them goodbye!

Pucker up Boo.....

My grand kids bring so much joy into my life!

Lyssi was far away from the slimy fish. She found a new toy and decided that was all she needed to keep her entertained while we all slaved away cleaning up.

I tried to get her to come close but she just clutched onto the toy and ignored me.

Papa helped bring her over for a closer look.

She was a little stand-offish at first
She did not like those eyeballs staring at her

Until I showed her that fish have tongues! She laughed and jumped around each time my finger would stick out of its mouth. GROSS!

Everything is cleaned up and it's time to relax in the shade and cool down with a popsicle.

Lyss insisted on 2 popsicles. Actually each time she saw that someone had a different color than hers was she would want that kind as well. I think she licked on 4 or 5 that night.

I love the way she holds it so dainty like!

I Love My Girls......

Hey! Where are you going?

The girls heading inside to wash up.....
Who needs a sink inside a house when you have a HOSE!!!

Grandma "T" will gladly wash you off!

SAVE ME MOM!!!

GOTCHA!
After playing in the water until they turned into PRUNES they bundled up inside to get warm and hear stories from daddy!

Once again a fun and exciting day!

To Be or Not to Be said...

It all looks fun except the getting into freezing cold water to fish, touching the fish, getting the hook out to release them, having the smelly fish in the car, cleaning the guts out, having the eyes stare at you while you are chopping off their heads ---- but the $ and grandkid parts really sound fun. Glad you are enjoying life!
