Alyssa's 4th Birthday.....

November 6, 2010
Starting off our date with a few fun pictures with our adorable granddaughter
Always have to take time for a few silly picts  :)
So happy to share being a grandparent with Howie.  He makes EVERYTHING so much fun
I love these girls!!!
More of our silliness
Howie was having a TOUGH time OPENING HIS STINKIN' EYES
Lyss is set and ready to go.  I find it kind of funny to watch each grandkid as they enter the car for their date....They each say the same thing!  "Grandma T...Can I watch a movie?"  We then get them all set with their headphones and their favorite movie and then....WE ARE OFF!  The kids all know that a movie in the car is the first thing to expect when they go with us.  I absolutely LOVE this tradition of taking our grandkids out individually to celebrate their special day.  GREAT MEMORIES!!!
All ready for our birthday fun day!
Lyssi with one of her FAVORITE men in her life.  I love watching these two play together.  She loves him so much!!!
I get some snuggles before we go in for our day of fun
The Tree House Museum is in Ogden Utah and I had no idea it even existed.  I came across it randomly on the internet and I am soooo glad I did!  It is a great place for kids to learn and explore.  FUN PLACE!

Lyss running up and down the spiral staircase.  SHE WAS IN HEAVEN!

Fire Fun...
One of the first places she headed for was the FIRE ENGINE!  The pictures I took did not turn out too well but she had a great time dressing up like her UNCLE TYSON!
She was all tangled up BUT insisted on doing it HERSELF!
I find it interesting how just a few months after these pictures were taken...Uncle Ty is now working for OGDEN FIRE DEPARTMENT!  I should get all of my grandkids on this fire truck for a picture!
Climb aboard PAPA!
Lyssi giving me driving lessons.....She is so stinkin' cute!
Way blurry but Cute girl anyway...

The BARNYARD....
She was learing how to milk a cow from Howie.  It really squirted out liquid!  She kept saying she wanted a drink.  I am glad she didn't just stick her face down there to get a drink.  She is like that....she always finds a way to get what she wants  :)
Giving the cow a "BATH"
Feeding the farm animals.  She would make a great farmer's wife someday
YEE HAW!  Our little Rodeo Princess
Did I mention how adorable I think she is?  YEP SHE IS!

Children's Play.....
Upstairs in the TreeHouse they have a small stage area and put on a little play several times a day.  It is great for the kids because they choose kids from the audience to dress up and be in the play.
Lyss was chosen to be a little pig...
She was eating this up.  She really enjoyed herself!
This was a "nail biting" experience as she waited for her turn on stage
She had a good time especially when they had the piggies lay down and pretend to sleep while snoring.  She told me later that she loved being a pig and snoring like Papa Howie.  LOL  so funny!

Exploring Dinosaurs......
She enjoyed playing with Papa Howie in this section of the Tree House.
He is so fun when it comes to make-believe time.....
Fun tracing activities....
I was surprised at how much she concentrated on this project.  She loved it!
And of course she LOVED the puzzle.  She takes after her mom when it comes to puzzles.  She patiently worked on this giant dinosaur puzzle.

Almost done.....GOOD JOB LYSSI!

Bouncing Around.....
There was so much to do and so much to see that we just let Lyss choose what and when she wanted to explore.  She bounced around from one display to another...up and down the stairs into the different areas of the Tree House.  I think she really liked her FREEDOM to choose.
Checking out the TeePee...
One of her favorite places to play.....Just sitting at the tables and playing with the Fisher Price toys.  She stayed here in this area for almost an hour
Just quietly playing by herself and it was so cute to listen to her talk to the animals and act like the little farmer.
Papa Howie took this time to relax as well.  He is almost asleep as Lyss is acting silly with the tractor.  She was REALLY LOVING IT!
Wall Painting.....
Building houses with Grandma T

Puppet Show Time.....
This was a FUN area of the Tree House Museum.
She was really in her element here.  She was giving us a wonderful show with the animal puppets.  I wish I had videotaped this portion.  I love to hear her little voice acting out the animal parts.  SO CUTE!
I was so impressed with the supplies they had for the kids here at the Tree House.  Wonderful complete costumes for different characters.  Here she is dressed like Little Red Riding Hood.  Basket and all!   She pranced up and down the hallway in this adorable outfit.
She had me dress like the grandma and I "CAPTURED" the BIG BAD WOLF!
Talking to her Papa.  I love to watch these two together.
Howie makes an AWESOME Big Bad Wolf!

Cute video of her playing dress ups....
He had her giggling so hard!
Papa Howie sneaking in a few ZZZZZZZZs.  Notice how he still has a pleasant smile on his face even when he is sleeping?  Such a happy man!

More Make Believe.....
I had taken a break to go buy some tickets for a play for later that night.  When I returned I found Howie and Lyss playing in this little house.  Lyss was making a birthday cake and serving Howie.  They  were having their own private tea party.  SOOO DANG CUTE!  How many guys that you know would sit in this little house and play make believe with their little grandchild?  Howie is the BEST Papa EVER!!!!
I did not want to interrupt their fun so I just stayed outside for a while and observed them playing together.  It was ADORABLE!  She certainly loves her Papa Howie!
I loved listening to their little conversations.  Such tender moments and fun memories to cherish always!
Lyssi putting in the Birthday cake to bake....
Setting the temperature for the cake....
Getting dressed up like Alice in Wonderland....
Alyssa's FUN, FUN, Papa Howie....

Music Time....
There was an awesome Music Room with drums and chimes and all sorts of musical instruments.  We were running out of time so we didn't have much time to really explore this area but we quickly checked it out before the Tree House closed for the night.  It would be so much fun to come back one day and take more time to really enjoy these separate areas.
I think Lyss would have played here for a LOT longer but the people kept announcing that they were closed!  TIME TO GET OUT!!!!  Not really that bad but I felt like we were the last ones to finally leave.
Before we left Steve needed to get a shot with our WONDERFUL president!

They also had a lot of cute craft activities planned for the kids to participate in but Lyssi DID NOT want anything to do with it.  The entire day she just passed that room right up and wanted to check out each area BUT THAT ONE!  Kinda strange because normally she really enjoys that type of thing but I think she was to excited to run around than to sit and cut and glue projects.  Maybe next time!

It was a beautiful autumn day and the weather was absolutely PERFECT.  We had decided to attend a play held at the Tree House later that night so we hung around the area and killed some time....
There is ALWAYS time for kisses!
The Ogden Temple is directly across the street from the Tree House Museum.
Lyss and Papa Howie went to check it out while I waited in line for the play.

Puss 'n Boots.....
Waiting in line with Papa Howie is ALWAYS fun!
The grandkids always seem to use him as a jungle gym.
Climbing to the top of Papa Howie.....All giggles for Lyssi
Papa Picking her up by her ears.....An all time favorite  :)
The play was actually a LOT better than I EVER expected. We had front row seats and it was THOROUGHLY enjoyable!  I would recommend it to everyone! Great entertainment!
After the show Lyss got to go on stage and take pictures with the stars of the show.
She LOVED it!
It was cute to see how shy she was when she met the MEN in the show.  She was so dang cute.  WHAT A NIGHT!

Dinner Time......
We went to a delicious pizza joint nearby to have dinner
Posing with Grandma T
The breadstick was bigger than she was!
Papa Howie starting a sword fight with Lyss.  He is ALWAYS playing with his food!  LOL
It was fun to watch her try to eat this breadstick.  YUMMMY!
This balloon guy was AMAZING!  Even though he just made her a flower, which is what she wanted, I was absolutely amazed at the creations he made for some of the people at nearby tables.  I think he is the best Baloon Artist I have EVER seen.  Really AWESOME!
Lyss was just so happy to get her beautiful flower!
After dinner it was time for some dessert!  This cookie was HUGE!  Once again we are feeding her food which is almost the size of her head!  She loved it though.  Tons of sugar for such a little tike :)
As we waited for Papa Howie to go get the car I let Lyss play for a bit in a nearby arcade area.
Before I knew it she was making out with Spiderman!!!!  WHAT THE HECK???  Everyone knows Spiderman is MY MAN!  Aka...Howie  LOL  LOL  LOL.  Private joke :)
When I asked her what she was doing she got this hilarious look on her face
like...."ooops, you weren't suppose to see that Grandma T"
More fun while we waited for Howie....

Night at the Hotel......
We spent the night at a nearby hotel in Ogden.  Lyssi was so cute when we went inside because it was much different than the hotel we stayed at in Disneyland and she kept saying, "THIS IS NOT A HOTEL"  "THIS IS NOT A HOTEL"  She was convinced that because it looked different it must NOT be one.  She was so wired from all of the sugar....So funny!

The kids always feel so "Grown Up" when we let them go to the ice machine to get ice for our water.  Lyssi was so dang cute as she was walking back to the room.
I was quietly walking behind her and I noticed she was on her tippy-toes trying to walk so softly.  She did not want to wake up anybody in the other rooms.  She kept shhhh'n me and reminding me that "people are asleep so we need to be very quiet".
When we got in the room Howie was about to CRASH but NOT Lyssi.  She was REARING to go.  She wanted to play games!
Howie was such a good sport.  See the cards in his hand.  He was playing with her IN HIS SLEEEEEEP!
It is a tradition to spend the night in a hotel each date we take the kids on.  Well I think their favorite part of it is the BREAKFAST!  They ALL seem to REALLY enjoy going down and picking out TONS and TONS of food to eat.  It amazes me how much they eat.  Lyss is NO exception.  She ate everybit of her food.  She really CHOWED down!
We spent the morning watching Tom and Jerry Cartoons with Lyssi.  She just loved them.  I haven't watched cartoons for so long.  It was kind of fun just relaxing with Lyss in the hotel room and enjoying her company.

Present Time....
This girl was LOVING life when she opened up her presents.  She was SO excited to get a new "Tangled Doll" where she could play with her hair.  I love the expression on her face.  She kept saying,  "That's EXACTLY what I wanted!!!"  So cute :)
"Ooooooooo Princess Fun"
She loved the stickers the MOST!
Checking out her new toys....
Lyss with her new doll....I love Alyssa eyes in this picture!  She is adorable!
Trying out her new toys....
As we were packing up our stuff Lyss worked on a picture for us.  It is a picture of herself and how happy she is.  I love the big GRIN she put on it and all of the TEETH!  She was happy and so were we!  We love the time we get to spend with our grandkids and cherish the memories we make each time!

Happy 4th Birthday Lyssi....We love and adore you!
