Bingham High School (where my girls attended) is celebrating their 100th year . They have had quite a few activities so far this year that involve the alumni. This Christmas Concert was one of the things which is a HUGE tradition for Bingham's music department. They invited all of the past music students that were interested, to join them in the Annual Candle Light Program. It is usually held the first week of December and I always looked forward to it. I always felt like it was a super way to start off the Holiday season. To begin the Candle Light program they turn out the lights in the auditorium and each performer, (choirs, bands, symphony) all begin to enter the auditorium holding a single candle. They parade up and down the isles as the bell choir plays beautiful music. Pretty soon you are surrounded by tons of lights and it looks pretty awesome. After the candle light procession the program begins. I LOVE IT!
This year because of their 100th celebration Ashlee was invited to sing in an Alumni Choir. Some of the people were pretty old! It felt so good sitting in the audience once again enjoying music by Ash. It brought back many, many memories. I spent a lot of time in that auditorium watching her perform. I sure do miss her high school years. :(
I was pretty proud of her for doing this. She had originally decided to do this with a friend of hers but the friend pooped out on her. So she went to the practices and performed with total strangers. Ash is so outgoing and makes friends so easily. That didn't bother her. She is tons braver than me. I am WAY out of my comfort zone if I don't know anyone around me.
She did a grat job.....That's my girl!!! The pretty one on top row!
At the end of the performance they invited everyone back on stage including the Alumni and they sang the Alleluia Chorus. The Symphonic Band played along with them and it was beautiful.
I couldn't get very good pictures because my camera doesn't work in the dark. Well, maybe my camera is okay but the person taking the picture doesn't know how to make it work! Frustrating!
The concert was great and the grandkids did a super job in the audience. They seemed to enjoy the christmas music as well. They were VERY well behaved!
Ash and Boo by the MINER!
It was fun being back at Bingham. Both of my daughters were so involved in their high school activities. I spent many hours at BHS watching volleyball games, pracitces, tryouts, dance performances, cheer competitions, art exhibits, and music concerts, and my favorite....PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES! They were such great kids growing up that when I would go to the conferences and talk with the teachers it made me feel so proud of the kids that I had. Each teacher would say how they wished they had more Aprils or more Ashlee's in their classes. Nothing but praise and good things to say about them. My girls were hard working, honest, and just plain old GOOD KIDS! I was blessed! I loved their teenage years and I actually find myself missing that time of my life the most.
Thanks Ash for inviting me back to Bingham. I really enjoyed myself!

That was fun! I saw that guys face when we came in...like great! I have little kids sitting next to me! But did you hear him after? He said my kids were delightful-they were really good! It made me feel proud! It was weird being back at my second home! I don't know why I say second because I was there more than I was at home but...
I loved Candlelight! I am going to ttry to get Canyon View Candlelight going down here even tho my kids have long been out of HS.
